have people not noticed that she is a producer working under him... and has been at fox for a while?

She worked at FOXNEWS for five years, then went to CNN for five months. Her boss at CNN apparently was under sexual harrassment accusations. She then begs to come back to FOXNEWS, and FOXNEWS gives her her job back and the money she wants.

Then. BOOM! One month later she files this lawsuit.

This is Anita Hill all over again. I don't believe for one minute that this sexual harrassment suit is legit, and that her time at CNN was spent learning how to set herself up for life.

I hope O'Reilly crushes her and her mob attorney.

"I sure hope he didn't offer to show her his "No Spin Zone..."

No, but this definately qualifies for the "Back of the Book Segment".

"So what is the motive? Extortion or something bigger. The timing is suspicious."

The motive is to keep FOX too busy handling this junk case just weeks before the election - hello, DNC agenda is always to distract, deflect and circle jerk like a horny homeless man.

Now I KNOW he's a Democrat!!

Then, of course, you know that Clarence Thomas is a democrat.

If she has him on tape....which it looks like she does....he is in BIG trouble.

Where do you get the idea she has O'Reilly on tape?

I think she was wired after returning from CNN.

Based on what? The fact that O'Reilly didn't deny anything is not good enough. Any good lawyer would tell him not to deny or confirm anything. That is just smart, and it does not suggest guilt at all.

More telling to me, is that the dude is doing his show tonight. Were he in real trouble, he would have been suspended.

I hope and wish the best for O'Reilly. He is one of the very few good guys on TV. I don't agree with everything he says, but I feel he is genuine and principled in his beliefs, something you cannot say about most of the others.

What, possibly, did this woman have to gain from suing O'Reilly if she doesn't have tapes??? Not one thing. She's not stupid. If what she says is true, she had every reason to fear for her career.

Except the facts don't back that up. Fox and O'Reilly bailed her out repeatedly during the time period in question. If anything, her position was more secure before this story broke than today.

She is clearly a pawn in a liberal plan to bring down O'Reilly and perhaps Fox News. She may even be a co-conspirator in a plot. Having said that, I think she does have tapes. But it makes no sense to tape it and never contact Fox management before demanding millions of dollars. The whole thing stinks.

You got it. Somewhere lost earlier in this topic is my post about how this could suck up all the airtime and maybe suck up a few votes for Kerry.

... and Fox News in general is in DEEP DO-DO for fostering an environment where sexual harassment can run rampant ...

Nah. The harassed person has an obligation to advise management of a problem. Management isn't expected to be (and can't be) precient. FoxNews is okay in this, and her lawsuit won't prevail.

-IF- the allegations are credible, the material harm, if any, would be to O'Reilly's ratings. If the ratings stay put, or dip only a small amount, worst case for Fox is to pay her off to go away.

If O'Reilly thought the woman could back up her claims, why didn't he pay her off instead of filing the extortion suit? Do you think that he was guilty, and just assumed she wouldn't have evidence?

I think that even if you're guilty, $60M is a lot of money-----especially if what you're accused of doesn't go beyond verbal indecency. O'Reilly seems like a proud guy. I can see how the thought of caving in to an extortionist harpie might be unpalatable to him.

Do you have lead for brains? If you are my boss, I can't just hang up on you. You control my job. You are one of the most important people in my business. My career is dependent upon positive recommendations in a very small environment of options. What was she supposed to do?

Again, assuming what she said is true, I don't blame her for not going to mgmt. They'd have tried to push her out and then ruin her chance for succeeding somewhere else. A lawsuit was the only avenue open to her.

Maybe she set him up when she went back to Fox from CNN? I don't have a clue. But that isn't really the issue - he either did what she has alleged or he didn't. Without tapes, she can't prove a thing and is therefore stupid to have filed the suit. Of course the wildest conspiracy theorists may have McAuliffe paying her off to do this. And from what I've seen of him, I wouldn't put it past him.

Details?

It's in O'Reilly's lawsuit. Her boss at CNN was under sexual harrassment allegations. She learned how to bring these charges from CNN.

Your theory would be correct if this had been Sean, Rush, Brit, or some other right leaning person of media power. O'Really is a self-proclaimed middle of the road guy. Bill will now find out that you have no allies in the middle..because they who stand in the middle of the road often get run over. His lack of respect for Swifties and his pissing off lefties too...has left him alone. This is not about Fox News...this is about Bill O'Really...and Fox should give him a leave of absence until this is cleared up...or prepare to can him. And soon. Sorry...no sympathy for the no spin man here. He lost my support long ago. In fairness...if innocent...he owns them.
