O'Reilly in trouble!
That's the liberal, leftist MO (a la Clintonesque):
If you can't win the argument, destroy the enemy's character and reputation.
It's October, and it's so obvious this is a political attack.
If Bill is toast then FOX is down and then Bush and Conservatism have been hit a blow. The stage has already been set in the complaint.
11. At all times mentioned herein, Defendant Bill O'Reilly was and is the host and "star" of "The O'Reilly Factor". The "O'Reilly Factor" is broadcast on cable television ....(no viewable)... Westwood One and Bill O'Reilly utilize this forum to preach the principles of the so-called "compasionate conservatism" espoused by George W. Bush and the Republican Party. The Defendants also use this forum to preach their belief in family values and to emoan the moral decline of politicians and others in positions of power.
But he's too weak. I really like Alan even though he is typically wrong. But he doesn't have it either. Savage has the gumption and would last about half the show before he lost it and would need to be replaced...
You're a Reynold Wrap man, I see.
Don't know what evidence you have - this sounds like election time October surprise SET UP to me.
All the complaint filed by Fox and O'Reilly says is $60 million, not $600 million.

"His style and popularity has gained him a good amount of enemies."
Plus the fact that he is a jerk helps too.
Never like him. Never will. If this stuff is true, and I hope that it isn't, it should probably be the end of him. But I thought Rush would be finished by the Oxy stuff and was wrong. And I used to like Rush. Never like O'Reilly.
It's so obvious, the DU'ers must be ROFL reading FR trash O'Reilly!
Why just read the complaint!

MANY times on his show, I have heard him say that he is a " Registered Independent."
It's nothing new though. You ask a liberal garbage collector why the dogs chase him and hinder his work, he would blame it on the "so-called 'compasionate conservatism' espoused by George W. Bush and the Republican Party."
Read the complaint.

Ailes isn't going anywhere. Get that thought out of your head.
I'm reading the filing at SmokingGun right now. As of Page 11, Macklis has nothing on O'Reilly that rises to the level of harassment. He treated her well but apparently trusted her too much by discussing sexual topics with her in a way that friends discuss sex, forgetting, much to his eventual regret I'm sure, that she was an employee. That relationship -- employer to employee -- is so laden with legal baggage in today's world that no sane boss can afford to get personal with an underling.
In any case, though the claim of actual sexual harassment looks weak, O'Reilly is toast as a serious pundit. Some of the slimy stuff in these papers he will never be able to live down. In fact, his lowlife comments to Macklis tend to confirm what I have always thought about him -- he's a mental midget blowhard egotist.
The only state and federal claims she has brought are for sexual harassment. There is no "intentional infliction of emotional distress," or anything of that nature, which is the kind of claim usually aimed that the harasser himself, rather than the employer.
If New York law is the same as federal law, then she hasn't stated a claim, because she never suffered any tangible harm, and she never bothered to complain internally.
It doesn't matter whether O Reilly acted intentionally. What matters is that she hasn't even alleged all the elements of a claim.
This has set up written all over it. Sounds like she encouraged the dirty talk, at least didn't DISCOURAGE it, and is using it now for monetary gain. When will men ever learn.
The Oxy stuff is completely different. Rush never started with recreational drug use.
He got addicted to pain killers during treatment of a legit condition and tried to stop twice on his own. Treatement center would have been out the question due to the attention he would have received.
He did get treatment. He lost his marriage, which probably was partly his fault.
Not even remotely comparable situations. My dad and I get into this arguement all the time
Who resigned for Jason Blair's deeds?
