SPIN THOSE POLLS! SPIN THOSE POLLS! (Do not vote in any of the online polls tonight)

SPIN THOSE POLLS! SPIN THOSE POLLS! [10/13 02:50 PM]

UPI reports on the efforts to spin online polls and mass-mailed letters to the editor.

President George W. Bush and Sen. John F. Kerry will walk across the stage Wednesday night and greet each other at the beginning of the third and final presidential debate. Already, across the country, e-mail messages are arriving in newsroom inboxes declaring a winner. A new form of spam is emerging this fall, called debate-spin spam, experts told UPI's The Web. The veracity of the e-mail messages being sent as letters to the editor is coming into question, as are the timing and content of many of the messages, because a significant percentage is being generated by bots, or intelligent software agents.

Which reminds me, it's time for the Pajamahadeen to continue our jujitsu operations. We had some success recently, but I think it's time to set our sights higher.

As usual, the instant online polls of news organizations, that the DNC is steering its members to here, will be less valuable and useful if the result is so stunningly skewed that no one believes it. So a poll that shows Kerry won 99 percent to 1 percent is less useful to the DNC than one that shows Kerry won 70 percent to 30 percent....

"I'd like to think that, but Kerry got trounced in the 2nd debate and all this week I've been hearing about how it was a big win for Kerry."

Exactly. The people who are swayed by last-minute impressions are going to go with the guy they think is winning at the last minute. It's in our best interest to make sure that's W.

I agree - don't shoot til election day ..

That is exactly why I refuse to answer poll questions. I am SICK of polls and it's no ones business who I vote for until I cast my vote on election day.

Put the pollsters out of business!

"Lets let the polls show ridiculous numbers that Kerry won 99% to 1%. People will see through this completely."

This assumes that the online polls even count your vote in the first place. I agree with you though, it's worth a shot.

Don't shoot until you see the whites of their eyes and then drive the bayonet in deep.

Online polls should be ignored. Let Chris Matthews tout his 2 geeks and a couple of linux boxes stuffing the box poll results to his college morans. Or the wiseguys in doing their best to stuff. Online polls are an acquiescence to a world government because the world gets to participate in a sovereign state's affairs.

I am having so much fun!!! I've just written to all the columnists at the Chicago SunTimes and told them that Terry McAuliffe sent me an e-mail telling me to write to them and to tell them that Kerry won tonight! On to the Chicago Tribune columnists.

However, I am for emailing the media and letting them know it is obvious they are going to throw the debate to Kerry because they've been bragging about it on television ALL DAY LONG!

The best way to do this is to hold your nose and vote for Kerry in the online polls. Let's see just how skewed we can get them... ;-)

Interesting straturdgury.

Excellent. I hear the Trib printed a[nother] hit piece on Bush. You can count on Chicago to pimp for Kerry.

Lets let the polls show ridiculous numbers that Kerry won 99% to 1%. People will see through this completely.

No, people will not see though it completely because the MSM will report it as valid. The MSM will use any tool, no matter how questionable, to turn this election in Kerry's favor. They do not care about the truth. They do not care about our country. They do not care about their reputation because they know that a Kerry administration will protect them. Ignoring the MSM will not decrease its power.

The left is making good use of these spammed internet site polls. I was listening to NPR news today and in a story about tonight's debate they said "according to polls Kerry won the first two debates". I realize it's NPR, but that's even a stretch for them!
