LUCASVILLE, Ohio (AP) - A teen killer who told the parole board that he regretted letting eyewitnesses survive was executed Wednesday for a shotgun murder during a $15 robbery. Adremy Dennis was put to death by injection at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility. His court appeals were exhausted last week, and Gov. Bob Taft denied clemency.
Dennis was 18 when he and an accomplice tried to rob two men outside an Akron home in 1994. One of the men gave up $15. The other, Kurt Kyle, 29, began searching his pockets, and Dennis shot him to death.
Dennis blamed Kyle for failing to cooperate and notice that he was high on drugs.
"I ain't saying it's all his fault, but why did he move?" Dennis said from death row. "Every day I think about that. It ain't 'Why did you kill that man?' It's 'Why did you move?'"
He told the parole board that he would not have left eyewitnesses "if my mind had been right at the time."
Kyle's friend who was robbed that night, Martin Eberhart, witnessed the execution. "The punishment fit the crime, and justice has been served," he said.

At age 28, Dennis was the youngest inmate put to death in Ohio since 1962, and his execution was the 15th since the state resumed using the death penalty in 1999.

Good Riddance!
Good Riddance!
NOTE TO SELF: If ever up for parole on a murder charge, don't say you're sorry you didn't ice the eyewitnesses.
Things you SHOUDLNT say when defending yourself for killing: "I should have killed all the witnesses too!"
Good Riddance - unbelievable, his defense is to blame the victim he killed for moving - let's talk about some personal responsibility here, must have been a democrat, one less vote to worry about - what a scumbag, a "humane" execution was to good for this guy - "I just can't believe you are executing me for stealing a lousy $15, I mean I told him not to move, you're killing me over $15"...DUH, isn't that what you killed the victim over?
Good riddance, scumbag!

After 10 years in prison and 10 years of chances for self-reflection, he still didn't get it.
If there's any reason for teh DP, this case is it.
Wait a sec!!
How is it that a death row inmate comes before
the parole board in the first place??????????
Warped logic!
MV
buh bye
Justice waited 10 years too long.
Bush's fault, right?
oh well, Kerry and Edwards will bring him back to life
AND make him walk
Good!!
If I recall correctly, its part of the clemency process put in place after Gov. Dick Celeste commuted the death sentences of a few killers as he was leaving office.
He was not there seeking parole, he was automatically receiving a chance to have his death sentence commuted to a prison term. As almost always happens, the sentence was not changed.
Definitely a guy who needed to be executed.
Agreed.
