Sinclair: Kerry Enemies List 'Just Astounding'

Reacting to a threat from a Kerry campaign official who was unhappy about Sinclair Broadcasting's decision to broadcast a documentary about John Kerry's anti-Vietnam War protests, Sinclair spokesman Mark Hyman said Tuesday that he was "astounded" to learn that the Kerry campaign was keeping a media "enemies" list.

"To imply that they might use something such as the independent regulatory process of the FCC to exact revenge against media organizations that they find to be enemies or not supportive of their cause is just astounding," Hyman told Fox News Channel's "Special Report with Brit Hume."

Story Continues Below

Earlier in the day, campaign spokesman Chad Clanton had warned, "Listen - they better look out there at Sinclair Broadcasting . . They've stirred up a lot of hatred . . . I think they're going to regret doing this. They better hope we don't win."

Hyman said Clanton's words "certainly sounded like a threat," and that was cause for widespread concern.

"It's something that should cause concern for every media organization in the country - if this is going to be a precedent for this campaign or any other campaign should they win," the Sinclair spokesman told Fox.

Everyone Dependent on the Government = An Automatic Built-In Permanent Dream of a Voter Bloc

Which is why dumbing down and demoralizing America's kids via the government schools is so important. Success and achievement kills liberalism and government dependency.

I read somewhere that the Kerry campaign had made acomplaint about the bias at FOX after the Karl Cameron parody on the first debate was posted to the FOX website. I think that marching orders have been issued to all FOX commentators to make up to Kerry for Karl's faux pas.

Well, while they're kissing up to the Kerry campaign, I'm actually watching MSNBC. I can hardly believe it, but it's the truth.

Better start praying for a republican congress, not a one-vote congress but a many-vote congress, a landslide congress.

Hit lists and enemy lists are nothing new, goldstategop.

LBJ was notorious for applying pressure through veiled threats, audits and private investigations on those he didn't like. Or could damage him politically.

Clinton took it a step further. Now we have Kerry.

The game is the same. Just more ruthless today.

Jack.

Add one more concern to your list; a Kerry-controlled FCC will attempt to resurrect the Fairness Doctrine in some way, shape or form, as a means of attacking conservative talk radio. The Dims are perpetually frustrated by the success/influence of hosts like Rush, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Mike Reagan, and others. They've essentially given up on fielding a "liberal alternative" (Air America proves that), and they're looking for a way to get rid of a perpetual thorn in their sides. Forcing stations to provide "equal time" for conservative hosts is an idea the Dims will surface again, if Lurch is elected....

I'm not watching any tv. After I read the background on Scarbourough's leaving congress and the dead intern that was found in his office, I can't watch it. I'll be watching C-Span, I guess.

Hadn't heard anything about it. After the last debate, Scarborough wasn't there because he had back pain or something like that (according to Matthews).

"Oh wait, we're not suppose to talk about Kerry's past."

Oh, yes we are but only if it's his "hero" service in VietNam 30+ years ago.

But just remember though, anything in his last 20 years as a Senator in Absentia is "past history" and matters not and should not, cannot be mentioned...

Did I mention he served in VietNam?

Did I mention he has a plan?

He doesn't even pay his fair share of taxes, although that money could go to help poor people buy health care insurance. He doesn't put his money where his mouth is. And he has a lot of money - who needs 5 mansions?????? and a jet and two yachts? His $8K bike is worth more than my car, my sons' cars, and my dauther's car all added up together......

"I sometimes wonder if many of us concerned people shouldn't buy Fox stock up in small chunks to help prevent a hostile take over by someone with an agenda" #1, Rupert Murdoch is richer than the psycho Eastern European lunatic George Soros. and # 2, News International(parent company of Fox, New York Post, The Sun (UK) , Sky TV (UK)etc) is structured in such a way that the Rupert Murdoch family own more than 50% of the voting stock. There is little for you to worry about

Oh no. Don't you DARE mention spending their money. No way.

How about buying up CBS and giving Les Moonves the heave-ho. And maybe we can cut Dan Rather's retirement, or pay it in Arabic money.
