Kerry Backfire: New TV Stations Want to Air Vietnam Film (WHOOHOOO!!)
newsmax ^

Complaints against the Sinclair Broadcasting network by John Kerry's presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee may have backfired, with non-Sinclair TV stations now expressing an interest in airing the documentary "Stolen Honor," which chronicles the candidate's role in the anti-Vietnam War movement.

"A few other TV stations around the country have contacted the producer of this documentary as well," Sinclair spokesman Mark Hyman told nationally syndicated radio host G. Gordon Liddy on Tuesday. "So there appears to be some growing interest in making this available to the nation's viewers."

Hyman said that Sinclair's decision to air the documentary was driven in part by a desire to pick up the slack from other broadcast networks, which have increasingly shunned news coverage in favor of entertainment programming. Referring the 13 Vietnam-era POWs who appear in "Stolen Honor" criticizing Kerry for protesting the war alongside the likes of anti-American actress Jane Fonda, Hyman told Liddy, "If anybody has earned the right to be heard on the subject of Vietnam, it's these men, who suffered such horrific abuse and unspeakable torture."

"For 31 years John Kerry has run away from that," he added.

Hyman said that while the exact format for the broadcast has yet to be determined, Sinclair has invited Kerry to give his side of the story after the broadcast.

Buy Stolen Honor or Call 1-800-853-6077 to order by phone

Why not just buy it or watch it online at the website?

The Dimwits made the same mistake with UNFIT FOR COMMAND. If Kerry hadn't sent his lawyers in to stop the stores from selling it, only a few of us would have read it. Make a big deal about something and it becomes a big deal and I couldn't be happier.

Exactly. First he tried to ignore it and then weeks later he threatened the Swift Vets publicly.

I was thinking last nite while watching Breck and Leno trash the Sinclair folks and complain about this film ... I bet a lot of people would never have heard of the documentary or Sinclair, if they hadn't done all the whining and complaining.

And I thought Sinclair is getting a boat load of publicity with this Leno appearance that I bet will generate some big interest in the film.

Wouldn't it be great if Sinclair got a huge boost out of this.

I would love to see one major network be fair and balanced.

Well, that's a great idea.

Now we just need to wait until angels fly out of strange places.

The Kerry Campaign and the DNC is the best PR firm money can buy.. The money line:

"Listen - they better look out there at Sinclair Broadcasting," campaign spokesman Chad Clanton threatened, as the controversy around Sinclair's decision to broadcast a documentary about Kerry's anti-Vietnam War protests continued to heat up.

"I'm not a lawyer, but they've stirred up a lot of hatred," Clanton continued to rail on Fox News Channel's "Dayside with Linda Vester."

"We've got thousands of people now very mad, jackballed up - calling these [Sinclair] stations, protesting, threatening boycotts of their sponsors," he claimed.

"I think they're going to regret doing this," the Kerry spokesman warned before adding - "They better hope we don't win."

Time to ask Comcast to run Stolen Honor... (Free PPV, whatever)

What hasn't Kerry done?

I mean, it's almost like he was 8 or 9 people.

An outdoorsman.

Back when he was in law enforcement.

Back when he was an altar boy (and a fine tall one he was)

Back when he was a war hero.

Back when he had a wife with only 400 or so million.

Back in the day.

That would be fine, but it's not me that needs to see it.

I already know about Kerry's war and after war record.

It's the rest of the people I want to see it.
