LAS VEGAS The FBI has been notified that hundreds of voter-registration forms have been intentionally discarded or destroyed by a private company hired by the Republican Party to sign people up to vote.
According to KLAS-TV, the local CBS affiliate, employees who worked for Voters Outreach of America allege scores of registration forms were thrown in the trash.
The company, also known as America Votes, reportedly employed up to 300 part-time workers and collected hundreds of registrations per day.
But according to some former employees, Voters Outreach of America sought only Republican registrations. The station reports the company has been largely, if not entirely funded, by the Republican National Committee.
Two ex-workers for Voters Outreach say they personally witnessed company supervisors tear up and trash registration forms signed by Democrats.
"We caught her taking Democrats out of my pile, handed them to her assistant and he ripped them up right in front of us," said Eric Russell, a former employee interviewed by KLAS. "I grabbed some of them out of the garbage and she tells her assistant to get those from me."
Russell was able to retrieve some shredded paperwork including signed voter-registration forms, all of which were from Democrats.
The television station pieced the forms back together, and presented them to the Clark County Election Department confirming they had not been filed with the county as required.
No one from the company was available for comment, as the local office was rented out to another tenant, with the landlord telling the station non-payment of rent was the reason. Another source said the company was now registering voters in Oregon.
Similar complaints have been received in Reno, Nev., where officials have asked the FBI to investigate.
The discovery could pose a problem for those going to the polls on Nov. 2, thinking they're already registered to vote, when officials have no record of that. In fact, the deadline to register to vote in Nevada was last night.
Clark County residents can check online to see if they are indeed registered to vote.
I hope those here with a talent to show Rathergate was a fraud will jump on this Nevadagate.
Knowing the facts, who would buy Democrats rip up Democrat forms and processes Republican forms?
This is almost a big as the Chicago dead vote.
Thank you!
I also informed lots of other outside help already.
We need to hit ping lists on this issue.

This is total BS! I'll go out on a limb and say that the exact opposite is closer to the truth and these scum are trashing Republican registrars. Acuse the other side of the very thing your doing to put them on defense and CYA.
Nobody. That's why CBS ain't gonna tell them -- just like they didn't tell their viewers that their own experts said the docs were forgeries -- just like they didn't let on that their news and editorial policy is to pound Bush and spare kerry -- nope, that memo had to get leaked.
How hard could it be for a "NEWS" organization to look up FACTS before they printed them?! All they had to do is GOOGLE the organization's name to get the facts and telephone numbers. What a LAZY bunch!
LAZY = CALCULATED
I hope people reading this stuff will hold their feet to the fire on this.
When attempting dirty trick (i.e. massive nation wide voter fraud), always accuse opponent's of using same dirty trick i.e."everybody does it"
If "proof" of opponents alleged "dishonesty" can be established through use of phony documents exc.. so much the better to fool the public.

If Reid loses? It is a happy thought, but is it realistic?
When I looked for "voters outreach for america" in google.com, I found only one entry, and it referred to a registration drive by Ralph Nader's campaign in Arizona!
I would think this is a Rats plot, but there is a listing on careerbuilder.com seeking to hire people to work for "Voter's Outreach of America." The subject line says "Canvassing Neighborhoods in Support of the GOP!" and says the job is "Paid for by the Republican National Committee."

Something tells me this could really bite us.
What IS the name of the company?
If the company's name is "Voter's Outreach of America" then its name is not "America Votes", and vice versa. You'd think the reporter could ascertain the real name of what it is he or she is reporting on, and then build from there.
As kcvl pointed out, "America Votes" is a left-wing organization that is guaranteed to be doing Democrat registration.
Is it POSSIBLE that there is a *new* company named "Voters/Voter's Outreach" in that state as a subsidiary of the left-wing one, the name being deliberately chosen to confuse things and allegedly do outrageous things with the aim of discrediting the good guys? Kewwy knows French let's ask him what agent provocateur means.
I hope the FBI comes down hard on anyone trying fraudulantly deal with individual voters, it makes no difference to me if they are republicans or democrats. It's wrong and it's a disgrace!
A local librarian checking on a companys request to set up a voter registration booth in the library discovered the company was not affiliated with a non-partisan national group as it claimed. This literally nauseates me. We cannot allow this loose-cannon nut-ball to get away with behavior that could lose us the election. We all know more will be made of this than if it were coming from the other side. So sad.
Sproul & Associates, Inc. of Phoenix, Ariz., phoned and mailed the library in September, saying it had been hired by America Votes.
That came as news to America Votes.
"This organization (Sproul) absolutely has nothing to do with America Votes," said Kevin Looper, the state organizing director for America Votes.
America Votes is a non-partisan political organization formed in July 2003 to increase voter registration, education and participation in electoral politics.
Libraries in Oregon and other states have been contacted by Sproul. Looper said attorneys at America Votes Washington, D.C. headquarters have taken over.
"We are in the process of pursuing all of our legal options to pursue (an order to) cease and desist."
But the man behind the matter says it was an innocent mistake.
"We were not trying to copy their name," said Nathan Sproul, owner of the consulting and management company. "All we were trying to do is register people to vote."
In September, the Jackson County Library Services Central Library received a letter from Sproul & Associates, Inc. which began:
"Our firm has been contracted to help coordinate a national non-partisan voter registration drive, America Votes! in several states across the nation."
The letter went on to ask if the company could register people to vote in front of the library.
Meghan OFlaherty, headquarters library manager, contacted Kevin Looper, who informed her America Votes did not hire the firm.
Thats when she learned that Sproul & Associates, Inc. is a political consulting firm headed up by former Arizona state Republican Party executive director Nathan Sproul.
Thanks.
"America Votes is a non-partisan political organization"
What a crock.
This is a scam, when you look up the company that did this, it is a major liberal one with partnered connedtions to some communists and extreme leftists organizations.
The chances of a company like this tearing up Democrats (who they love) while completing Republican forms (who they hate) would be ZERO!
This is a fraud, unless the story meant to say a Democrat funding were ripping up Republicans.
Who ever the person is, if this charge can be proven, jail them.
"The only problem I have with it ... is that theyre misrepresenting themselves as someone theyre not," she said.
Libraries in Multnomah, Corvallis/Benton, West Slope and Washington counties also had been contacted, said OFlaherty.
She said she learned on the Internet that Sproul & Associates is actually a partisan political consulting firm, so the library cannot support them.
"If they show up, theyre going to have to be out in front of the library and not inside," she said.
The toll-free number which librarians were given connects to an answering machine stating that if the caller is interested in canvassing neighborhoods in support of the GOP, he or she should leave a message with contact information.
Cindy Gibbon, senior library manager with the Multnomah County Library, said voter registration drives inside libraries must be non-partisan, because libraries are publicly funded and cannot appear to take sides with issues or parties.
She said they let Sproul know that, but hadnt heard back.
"We may see them or we may not," she said.
Sproul said Monday the name selection was an honest mistake.
"You telling me that they even exist was really the first time Id heard it," said Sproul. He said his company, hired by a number of clients to register voters, came up with what he believed was a generic name. He said he had not heard from the original America Votes.
"If they even just pick up the phone and call ... we would change it in a heartbeat," he said.
Sproul said his company was just trying to get more people registered to vote and were not promoting any issue, candiate or party.
Sue Noel, a temporary employee at Sproul & Associates, said the voter drive is called Project America Votes and she knew about the redundant name.
"What we try to do is tell people we are not affiliated with America Votes," she said. She said the company already has set up registration drives in Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, Florida and Nevada. In addition to libraries, theyve set up registration drives in front of businesses and grocery stores, she said.
Looper says hes skeptical about the naming.
"Youll have to forgive me for not finding it credible that they would not have heard of a group that is one of the largest in the country and is in every one of the 17 swing states and that could hardly be missed in any political circle," he said. "While we appreciate their word that they will cease and desist, we will want to see that in writing."
"Im glad theyre not going to persist in trying to mislead people," he said.
Rich Rohde of Oregon Actions Medford office said his office has trained 30 to 40 people who have registered hundreds of residents in Medford. Oregon Action is a partner with the original America Votes.
In addition to canvassing door-to-door, volunteers are setting up booths, such as the one theyll staff Saturday at the Multicultural Fair at Alba Park in downtown Medford.
Sproul said at this point, given how close the date is to the Oct. 12 registration deadline, he doubted his company would have time to set up in Oregon.
Looper credits Oregons county librarians for bringing the issue to light.
"If it wasnt for their initiative on it, I would not have known about it," he said.

LET'S COUNT THE MISREPRESENTATIONS in the American Libraries article, "Oregon Librarian Thwarts Voter-Registration Fraud."
1. Despite the presence of the word "fraud" in the title, the article text contains no accusationlet alone proofof actual fraud. The individual who is the article's subject, Nathan Sproul, asserts that he had made an innocent mistake, and no evidence is provided that might call this explanation into question. Apparently, the reader is meant to take the organizational representative's skepticism as conclusive. This is the sole basis for the article's title.
2. Although the first line of the article states that the librarian discovered the "real identity" of Sproul's organization, no assertion is made that Sproul's group at any time sought to conceal its identity. The text says that the librarian received letters "from" the group, so that its "real identity" seems never to have been in doubt.
3. The article characterizes the organization "America Votes" as a "nonpartisan, nationwide voter-registration organization," whereas it is in fact a non-tax deductible 527 political organization comprised of an alphabet soup of liberal organizations.
The information page for this "voter registration" coalition explains that, "At the state level, organizations will work together in planning voter registration, voter communication, canvassing, issue ID work, and GOTV activities. America Votes Organizing Directors will work in key states to ensure that local groups are effectively working together and reaching out to the widest possible audience of voters." One trusts that such an organization would not be elligible to register voters in Oregon's public libraries.
"Fraud"? "Real identity"? "Voter registration organization"? Well, not quite.
Did I miss any partisan misrepresentations in this "news" article?
