Is that a picture of a small volcano erupting in the top centre of that small silver picture frame to the left of the lamp in this photo, and do the number of venetian blinds at the back of the scene add up to the same number of letters in "Mount St.Helens" or I have spent way too long on this thread and should go and take some aspirin ?

That is a beautiful lamp. I must say that your living room lava decorum does not do the other lamp justice.
Think of perhaps a quieter motif, possibly Royal Copenhagen blue walls trimmed with white accents? / Middle of the night humor

I'm sure you can tell, the spiders like it too!
My wife used to do the housekeeping, sadly, she passed a few years back. (That's her in the picture)
So now I just sit around and wait for mountains to explode.

These are views of the lava lake on Mt. Erebus volcano, Antarctica. It is hard to imagine such intense heat on such a frigid continent as Antarctica. Mt. Erebus lava lake as viewed from the crater rim on Jan. 16, 2004.

DJF, I am sorry to hear about the passing of your wife.
It makes perfect sense to be interested in exciting events courtesy of Mother Nature. It helps to remember that although none of us really have much control over life, there is a greater Power which has created a wonderful world full of miracles and unlimited potential.
Spiders are good because they fit in somehow, too. :)

I think this threas merits an Oregon Ping. Your from Oregon too. How much ash did you get in your area after the first eruption? I'm in the south part of the state and I heard they a quite a bit even down here.
