Unfortunately, I have had not time today to go through TM and read nor respond to posts. But I want to go on record as saying that I believe that both the azzam and ubl tapes are genuine. I have never thought otherwise especially since there is no reason for me to think otherwise.

The only comments I repeated over and again on this and other threads about the azzam tape -- the other evening -- was that it appeared scripted and the dude was a whitey and most importantly: I detected zero accent while reports from experts said otherwise. If that dude is indeed Adam, then, well, I am not surprised. If it is not Adam but another whitey, well, I am not surprised.

Finally, I suppose there is a chance that if ubl were in detention, we could force him to make a tape. But I do not think this is the case at all because I find that to be a ludicrous thought. The fact that ubl appeared behind a lectern instead of squatting on the ground and lacked a visible Kalashnikov simply ties in to what he was trying to accomplish in his more political, elder statesman communication as opposed to his usual pure militant communications, IMO. But others have said this way before me.

For the most part, he spewed much of the same garbage as he has before. Except his threats were no doubt different. He released a speech back in 2001 or 2002 -- again to the American people -- that said many of the same things otherwise although he has changed some of his justifications and rationales. In it, he took a shot at Clinton, now he totally skewers GWB and he said more this time because we kicked taliban butt, ousted sadam, and the election is approaching. That is the only distinction I see.

One more thing: I sure hope that the authorities are ruling everything in first before the evidence is there to rule anything out. This is the way it should work and I think this is the way it does work.

We can afford no less because the safety and security of our nation and that of other nations may one day again be at stake.

I do not buy all that I hear in the lamestream press, even on FoxNews. They all no doubt have been asked to handle events -- should they occur or be poised to occur -- in a certain way. I do not often look for too much confirmation from the press, especially after that Tom Ridge/media exec meeting months ago.

So, I try not to trust nor discount everything and I look at everything with a skeptical yet a believing eye.
