The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

ATLANTA (CNN) -- As more than one billion Muslims prepare to celebrate Ramadan, terror experts are mixed about whether the holy month is a tool for recruiting terrorists.

Some terrorism experts and Islamic scholars say Ramadan gives extremists an opportunity to enlist new recruits.

"It's a time which can be exploited by radical clerics to motivate individuals into taking action on the basis they are somehow serving their religion," says terror expert M.J. Gohel.

And analysts see another temptation for terrorists: exploiting the Battle of Badr, a symbolic date in Muslim history, which falls near the U.S. presidential election.

The outcome is vital to what our purpose here is, no one else is complaining, whats up with TM lately? The baiting and antagonism here lately, the partiality and bossiness is what is very unappealing. If you post what few approve of you get no criticism, there is no self-appointed guru here that commands what we post. Things are not turning nice and that is disconcerting for the purpose of TM. Some people always need controversey and lean to bossiness it seems.

Yeah, I heard that one awhile back. Now, how could they possibly pull this one off? Unless perhaps they were TINY nukes let out of small planes flying rapidly into restricted airspace. I guess it could happen- but I doubt it.

I don't think anyone is trying to be bossy. The past week has been tense with all the new information we have gotten. When you combine that with the stress of the election, you have some cranky people from time to time. ;)

The outcome of the election is undoubtedly important for our purpose here, but there will continue to be threats no matter who is in charge.

It's likely the reason for the slowness and such. Bots are generally used by search engines to catalogue sites. It sounds as if FR is being hit by a lot of them, and not by the normal search-engine ones.

Look there are alot of 'silly' posts here, other's keep it to pm's, some poster's like to 'front' or try to embarass other's, which is unacceptable IMO. The same inane posts Ian are praised or complimented and many dislike it but don't post public, but if I am going to be chastised in public, first by you, then Godzilla for what I post, I'm through tiptoing around.

Cindy has always stated it is not one person responsible or to be credited with the success of TM and she is 100% correct. Many times there have been in-house disputes and the reason I asked you to take over was because I was weary of referring and being monitor. But whoever is monitor has the responsibility to be fair-minded, even if you cannot please everyone. But one thing I know is you do not put a lontgime contributor on the defensive. If I'm not wanted here, fine but don't try and belittle me publicly, because I will come out fighting.

You and I have not always agreed on things that happened here, both of us challenged the other's judgement but enough is enough and bickering and veiled attacks. I am not stupid and resent my intelligence being insulted by trying to placate me, condescend or patronize me.

When I feel something is unfair you will hear from me and 'that' is what FR the host of TM is all about.

I haven't noticed any bossiness or antagonism, but I have noticed that stress levels are sky rocketing, especially mine.

Best word to describe what I’m feeling is:

Malaise –
1 : an indefinite feeling of debility or lack of health often indicative of or accompanying the onset of an illness
2 : a vague sense of mental or moral ill-being


Today just feels wrong. Don’t know what or why.

I pride myself on being fair-minded JP. I'm not 100% sure what this is all about at this point, but I assure you that I realize every TM poster is as important as the next. I know that I do not want you to leave so don't even think about it. ;)
