Not sur which is the guilty party but I call it as I 'feel' it there is a wagdog going on IMO
The remaining 105 electoral votes are in the eight most competitive states: Florida, Ohio, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota and New Mexico.
Two other states fall just outside the toss-up category Michigan and New Hampshire, both of which tilt slightly toward Kerry. An additional six to 12 states, including the slow-voting Democratic bastion of Hawaii, could come into play if neither Bush nor Kerry wins a clear majority of the popular vote.

If it turns out not to be they are 'go' tapes, then we are being played and I'd say by our own politicians
For all we know it could be CIA etc or undercover Ops
news to me lets ask Jersey TM'rs
The offer has first been made to emir about six months ago during his visit to Qatar along with American ex-president Bill Clinton. The newspaper reports that emir took the offer seriously. Both men began negotiating. However, their talks ended after emir decided to audit the channel.
I'm so surprised
Emerson said he would not necessarily be worried about UBL and his motive
Well done, Piper. Thanks
It's either tin foil hat time, or connect the dots time:
Several months ago, on this forum, it was indicated that just before the next big attack, there would be attacks on Italy and England.
Also, linked to this forum a few months ago, was a source that said Al Quada would contact the US media twice ... once to say they were going to hit in the near future, and again to ensure media coverage AS THEY WERE CARRYING OUT THE ATTACK.
Finally, the next big attack was supposed to be signaled by Bin Laden.
So ... the next dot would be if we got a third tape.
Remember, though ... they like to talk big, and somebody or another has been threatening to make the US streets run red with blood every three days ...
They'll hit US when and IF they can, nothing's changed on that score. Prayers for the FBI, CIA and homeland security in these troubled days.
If we get UBL by Tuesday...
In my humble opinion ... US need to go on orange until after the election.
"I would add spots in Louisiana to that list as well."
Any city on the water is a potential target.
one thought I had which I now dismiss was, imagine if that guy on the videotape was one of our own infiltrators, an undercover "lily white" alphabet guy selected by an unknowing al qaeda to make the tape!
Don't dismiss that idea
I can't find it either (so call me lazy tonight ... )
But, I remember specifically reading it in late June, early July, I think.
I bet not many know after Kerry's response at the airport, 5 min later he was on Wisc TV local station blaming Bush and politicizing it
Remember, though ... they like to talk big, and somebody or another has been threatening to make the US streets run red with blood every three days ...
You are so right Tilly, and UBL seemed so 'scripted' and said things in such a different demeanor and wording
News analyst on Fox said 18 minutes OR MORE (after discussing the tape)....whatever that means.
I don't think he's screwed if he raises. I think most peope will understand, except of course Michael Moore, Teddy Kennedy, John Kerry, and the entire Clinton spin maching.
Nonetheless ... they should raise it.

From Nena at Pure Pursuit:
Bin Laden Seeks U.S. Political Role
October 29, 2004 2313 GMT
Summary
U.S. President George W. Bush and presidential hopeful Sen. John Kerry have offered short responses to the latest videotape of Osama bin Laden -- a tape that could well be bin Laden's U.S. version of the pre-election Madrid attack.
Analysis
U.S. President George W. Bush and presidential hopeful Sen. John Kerry responded briefly to the videotape of Osama bin Laden released Oct. 29. Kerry said everyone in the country -- Republicans and Democrats -- is committed to hunting down bin Laden, and added that he would not negotiate with terrorists. He also said he could run a more effective war on terrorism and regretted that Bush let bin Laden slip away when he had him cornered in Afghanistan.
Bush gave a much briefer response, saying simply that Americans will not be intimidated or influenced by the enemy of the country, and that the United States is at war and will win.
The responses were in part something bin Laden hoped to engender. No matter which way the presidential race goes, he will take credit for influencing the vote in the last moments before the election. In essence, the tape could be bin Laden's U.S. version of the pre-election Madrid bomb attack in March. Bin Laden has made his vote for Kerry clear, and whether he is trying to influence Americans to go the other way (for Bush) or not, he has firmly placed his stamp on the election.
For Bush, the tape is a reminder that bin Laden is still alive and out there -- something Kerry noted in his response. But that might well benefit Bush, as it reiterates the fact that the United States is at war and has an enemy that needs to be dealt with.
For Kerry, the tape is slightly more complicated. Bin Laden's statements on the tape about Bush talking to children in Florida during the Sept. 11 attacks could have been a scene right out of a Michael Moore film, and bin Laden's assessment that Bush could have done a better job at preventing the attacks is a plank in the Democrat's platform.
