The thought occured to me during my commute home. Some of the most obvious things can be hidden in plain sight. Take for instance the Rathergate memos. The error was in plain sight. I this tape, the English speaker would have attracted the most attention - out of the ordinary - thus garnering most of the attention. The Sahab markings and rest could be cosmetic as the most intense examination would be on who the speaker was and what he is saying. Kind of like a sleight of hand trick too, misdirect one's attention to what you want them to see.
Now the only thing left is how it got into ABC's hands, particuarly in view of the CSM article.
I browsed a bit and didn't see this posted...is Jill's site going away?

You are wonderful, LG2!

From what her posting says, I'd say the answer is yes. Haven't communicated with her in a while to get any other details.
"His heavy gulping breathing is what I saw as affecting his speech, not an accent."
On another thread someone mentioned this breathing pattern was typical of meth users. Given the news story last week about the Beslan terrorists being on drugs this might hold some water.

Thanks! I appreciate it.
Blood flowing on the streets...
Then the next post after yours, 2583 linked to Jill's site, which contains some very serious assessments of the current terror.
Also, another article, which talks about months of chatter suddenly going quiet is alarming, rather than reassuring, because that was the same pattern before 9-11-2001.
Do you know if there has been any analysis/speculation as to the identity of the bull's face? Kinda resembles President Bush, if you ask me...
Churchill once said something along these lines..."not liberal in your 20's, no heart; not conservative in your 40's, no brain."
You must have a good mind for connecting the dots if you're swinging toward the right in your early 20s.
I agree with you about this general idea.
This has also been run through the CIA/FBI/whatnot. Any native Arabic speaker (I assume they have one or two on their staff) would be able to pick up grammar mistakes with great ease. I seriously doubt that they would only listen to the tape and ignore the words at the bottom of the screen.
Real or not, I am not sure this tape is significant in any way other than proving the fact that some of the people who hate us are not Arab.
The message is the same, the language is different.
I voted for Bush just a few months after my 18th birthday. I could never have registered as a liberal. :)
Well, if the person is an American, who learned Arabic, like Johnny Taliban, that could explain the grammatical errors in Arabic.
"US intelligence officials believe the man on tape may be Adam Gadhan - aka Adam Pearlman, a California native who was highlighted by the FBI in May as an individual most likely to be involved in or have knowledge of the next al Qaeda attacks.
According to the FBI, Gadahn, 25, attended al-Qaida training camps and served as an al-Qaida translator."

Since Pelosi met with HAMAS leaders back in August it isn't that far fetched to link Kerry with terrorists...we've certainly touched upon this possibilty here on TM.
I have not heard or watched the tape yet but your description reminds me of the supposed OBL audio tape that came out last year. I thought the voice sounded too young to be him (could have been his son). The same characteristics you mentioned were there, enthusiastic, heavy breathing. Doesn't OBL stick his fingers up while speaking? I bet OBL's son speaks english. He probably attended the finest french or swiss boarding schools.
Most here would use the term liberal to equate with democrat.
True. Though, today's democrats are much better described solely as liberals IMO.
...I think I have no heart ;-)
placemark.
