Well, if the person is an American, who learned Arabic, like Johnny Taliban, that could explain the grammatical errors in Arabic.

The point is that the tape claims to have been produced by Sahab productions, the propaganda arm of AQ, staffed with lots of literate arabs. If this is bogus, then grammatical errors would be expected.
