The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

ATLANTA (CNN) -- As more than one billion Muslims prepare to celebrate Ramadan, terror experts are mixed about whether the holy month is a tool for recruiting terrorists.

Some terrorism experts and Islamic scholars say Ramadan gives extremists an opportunity to enlist new recruits.

"It's a time which can be exploited by radical clerics to motivate individuals into taking action on the basis they are somehow serving their religion," says terror expert M.J. Gohel.

And analysts see another temptation for terrorists: exploiting the Battle of Badr, a symbolic date in Muslim history, which falls near the U.S. presidential election.

Supposedly -- in footage we have not yet seen -- the speaker refers to Yemen as "The Yemen." This is also why at least one language expert thinks that English may not be his first language even though he is well versed in it.

Yes, it seems scripted like the others. I guess what is striking to me in the bit of footage was I have never seen a terrorist breathe like that while talking! That is the most striking feature of the footage to me.

I really would like to see the whole video.

Just a little thought about his use of the term "the Yemen" - that could indicate that although English may be his native tongue, he converses and reads mostly another language and has for several years (probably Arabic) and therefore uses their grammar construction.

Also, someone on another threat told me that they use "The Yemen" in the ME. But not when speaking English, right? So, you are probably on target about the grammer construction.

I guess that is why the authorities think the speaker speaks English but not as a first language, yet he also is not a born and bred arab.
