San Jose Police Chief Rob Davis was speaking to 7,000 Bay area Muslims last year at the end of Ramadan, Islam's holy month of fasting, when he suddenly realized that they had gone hungry when he had not. And they were celebrating an experience he did not know.
"It just dawned on me," he recalled. "If I am truly going to understand the nuances of this religion, I should join them in this fast."

Yeah ... and I happen to be visiting San Jose this weekend. Had I known sooner I might have canceled my trip (it's not related to business just a personal interest) ... not sure I want to spend my money in this type of environment. Hotel and car rental taxes flow thru to the local gov't, that in turn pay city employee wages.

If Davis is LDS, maybe someone should explain to him that Brigham Young didn't have any silly ideas like only allowing a man four wives at a time, like the Muslims do. (Of course "concubines" don't count against the limit.)
