It is accurate.
I didn't get on the stream and didn't want to spend the time lookin' around, so I watched this thread.

I'm a Keyes fan so everything said here has resonated with me, and I know enough about Alan's style to affirm your observation.

I think that is the most endearing thing about Alan Keyes ... he can take what you say, and correct it in such a way you're almost forced to re-arrange your thought processes.

I wish I had heard him, but this has been good, too.

Make that 5-0 now.

I can't say that I like the trends I'm seeing. ;-)

Really? It's frustrating not being able to see who's talking. The only voice that was always recognizable was Keyes.

I'd say that the people of Illinois should understand their choices a little better now!!

Was this hyped in Illinois? I can't picture a radio-only debate going over big here in MA.

Ninety minutes for the Pres. debates seems too long, but this went way too fast. I could have listened another hour.

So true. I couldn't hear this debate, but that's the way I feel everytime I hear Alan debate.

I fell asleep ten minutes into both presidential debates. 8-)

You know, I'd say this was hyped all over the country. Since Keyes got into this race, it's been said that these debates are bound to be very special - in a league with Lincoln/Douglas, etc.

I'm not sure how many people in Illinois listened to it. I was listening off the web here in California.

Am I mistaken, or is it acurate to say Obama pretty much just presented talking points, rather than "rebutt" Keyes,

Like most politicians.

but Keyes, as soon as it was his turn to speak was able to express a concise analysis of what Obama had just said and point out the error in his approach... then go on to state what he felt was the correct approach?

This is true statesmanship in the age of the soundbite. Most other politicians are either too scared or simply unable to present a coherent, reasoned argument in defense of their positions. This doesn't bode well for our republic.

One reason it 'went' so quick is that Keyes engaged us by talking about things we really give a damn about instead of the stupid, mindless happy-talk and Politically-Correct banter thrown around by politicians (no offense to Bush, ut he is one). It is this kind of real addressing of the issues, with no apologies, that will keep Keyes out of the running for President, because the media WILL NOT ALLOW IT. He would dominate the debate, not to mention the issues, with his no-nonsense approach that I admire and respect.

I've got an mp3 of the SECOND HALF only, for those who would like the link to download.

Sure. How do I do that?

There was a guy alongside the road in South Barrington, tonight, with a sign urging people to listen to the debate on 780 am. A freeper, maybe?

Mike Crapo's RAT opponent in Idaho isn't even on the ballot and is attempting to run a write-in campaign, if you think that guy will not poll lowest of any major nominee in 2004, I have a bridge to sell you.

Also I expect Senator Inouye to poll over 80% in Hawaii this year, becuase other than Linda Lingle it's almost impossible to run statewide with an "R" next your name there. My hunch would be the virtually unknown GOP candidate gets around 18% of the vote there.

The Osamabama apologist crowd is not living in reality, even in neighboring Iowa the numbers are about 68%-22% in their Senate race.

"One of us," in any case. God bless 'em. Maybe we can do more of that.
