Been praying very hard since the 1st debate.
I have to split up my time, but I'll take 2:00-2:30 and 3:30-4 ...and every time I think about it for the rest of the day.
I've been praying, too, and will continue to pray throughout the day (and the debate).
4-5pm EDT (plus some extras in there before and during the debates)
I have been praying thoughout the day while watching one of the grandbabies and will continue. Thank you Jesus for keeping your arms around our president.
BTTT!!!
Heavenly Father, may you reveal to the people which candidate has their interest at heart. Please listen to the voices of your children. Now and always, in Jesus name. Amen.
If you can use another prayer warrior at 9pm, it would be my pleasure!
Thanks,
Lisa
7 pm Eastern. Right now.
Who's praying for John Kerry?
I don't have any fancy words, Lord, nor formula-type prayers. Heck, thanks to my cold I'm not even thinking all that clearly. So all I have to offer you is what's in my heart. Dear Lord, I'm so frightened for my beloved nation. I'm frightened that a majority of the American people are so shallow and foolish that they will reduce their assessment of an otherwise highly important presidency down to the 90-minutes of the first debate this year.
I'm frightened of the prospect of a Kerry presidency and what it will mean, not only for us, but for millions around the world.
I'm frightened of the forces of pure evil who seem to be gathering all around us. George Bush has been a strong bulwark against them, Lord: against the vicious terrorists; against the corruption of the UN, French, Germans and others; against those in our own nation who would have us be more like the UN, French, and others on the international Left.
So, my loving Lord, my prayer isn't just for the president to do well tonight. My prayer is that you give a majority of the American people the wisdom to not send the same message to the terrorists as did the Spanish people.
I just cannot believe that the God I was taught about from childhood would stand by and let the murderous Islamic fanatics win the kind of victory only the defeat of George W. Bush would hand them. You would not be the God I struggle so hard to believe in and hope to know one day.
Like all human beings, Lord, you know better than I that George W. Bush has his failings. But he is a good man, Lord, and he has tried to do your work as it is given to him to understand such work. Please look upon this man's greatness and be merciful and kind. Look upon his bravery, his steadfastness, his lack of artifice, and the deep well of his kindness, and don't let the people cast him out. It would be truly ironic, Lord, if only the Australians get it.
Protect us from ourselves and our weakness, Lord. Please, Lord, let the millions who watch him tonight soften their hearts. Let them hear his message, despite the president's lack of a glib tongue. Let them see, with clear eyes, the danger that John Kerry represents.
Please still the worst inclinations of the punditocracy. I know they must jabber for a living, but it would be really great if they were taught a bit of humility, Lord.
As for myself, Lord, I honestly don't know what I'll ever believe in again if GWB is defeated. In my own weakness and heart full of sadness, I need you Lord. And only you, above all, know that I don't pray like this often, and certainly not in public. So please see my earnestness, deep hope, and dependence on you, and be merciful. Thanks,
Signed: Your child.
Hubby and I praying on and off throughout the day, and definitely through the debate. I believe in miracles.
More prayers lifted; Dear Lord be with the President this evening.
Am I late? I'll pray now.
God is faithful.
Another win for the prayer warriors.
I've never done such an intense period of intercessory prayer, but I stuck it out.
This morning when I got up I was lead to Psalm 64:
Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; Preserve my life form the dread enemy.
Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the schemeing of evildoers,
Who whet their tongues like swords, who aim bitter words like arrows,
Shooting from ambush at the blameless; they shoot suddenly and without fear.
They hold fast to their evil purpose; They talk of laying snares secretly, thinking, " Who can see us ?".
"Who can search out our crimes ? We have thought out a cunningly conceived plan." For the human heart and mind are deep.
But God will shoot His arrow at them; they will be wounded suddenly.
Because of their tongue He will bring them to ruin; all who see them will shake with horror.
Then everyone will fear; they will tell what God has brought about, and ponder what He has done.
Let the righteous rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in him. Let all the upright in heart glory.
Hey, sign me up for every Friday from 7-8 CST (8-9 EST). I'm going to Adoration every Friday night during that time slot -- and I'm certainly willing to pray for our President as an intention while I say the Rosary.
