Kerry claims he received a 'long' voice mail from Reeve the same day he went into cardiac arrest, fell into a coma and subsequently died the next day.
I find this incredible!! Who among us believes Kerry was possibly Reeves last phone call of his life?
I think Kerry has some splainin' to do.
"Kerry, who knew the "Superman" actor for about 15 years through family and dedication to the same causes, said Reeve left him a long voice mail on Saturday thanking him for campaigning on the possibilities of a cure for conditions like his." http://www.dailynews.com/Stories/0,1413,200~20954~2461635,00.html
"The star of the "Superman" movies fell into a coma on Saturday after going into cardiac arrest at his home in New York." http://www.cfra.com/headlines/index.asp?cat=2&nid=20516
Maybe Kerry thought he too, could pull off the same type of story?
If this phone message endeed exists, maybe it was made after the dem convention, but Kerry lamely attempted to make it more current?
This is worse than the stories lil' Dick Gephart used to make up about all the losers in life's lottery he talked to on his campaign stops to nowhere. And it will be as equally difficult to prove or disprove.
" Reeves developed a systemic infection from a bedsore that grew progressively worse over the period of a week, "
Generally, when patients go into septic shock, the symptoms start appearing before the final crisis.
The toxins from the bacteria overwhelm the weakened immune system over a period, affecting the major organs.
The kidneys start to shut down, the lungs fill with fluid, cardiac output decreases, blood pressure drops and mental confusion may be present prior to coma and death.
While not impossible, I would be surprised if a debilitated patient in the throes of septic shock would have the mental and physical capabilities to make a lengthy and coherent phone call just hours before their death.
He called when he got to the other side. Told gigolo johnny he couldn't wait for them to meet again!
"On what grounds? "
On the grounds that even if you are correct, bringing up the issue will lose more votes for Bush just because it appears ghoulish, and will turn off swing voters. After Reagan died even the usually rabid Reagan hating Dems. knew enough to keep their mouths shut. Seems like an unspoken universal rule in politics to let people rest in peace.
BTW, do you know what cardiac arrest is? It is the sudden stopping of the heart. One minute your heart is pumping normally. The next minute it's not and you either get some assistance in the next four minutes or your dead.

" LOS ANGELES: Fans, family, former colleagues and...
Senator Kerry mentioned Reeve during his debate with Mr Bush last Friday, saying that "one day we will realise Chris's inevitable dream". He said the actor, who continued to agitate fearlessly for the disabled, had called him on Saturday. "He was an inspiration to all of us," Senator Kerry said yesterday. "
I agree with you.Leave this ALONE.
It's not going to disturb Reeve's peace (if he has any in the arms of the Lord Jesus; I don't know the state of his soul when he ceased to breathe) if Kerry's truth or lies is discussed.
He also made some really bad ones (The Bostonians, for example).
He's not off-limits for me, because he was an outspoken advocate for using dead babies to address his own medical needs.
UN-FREAKIN'-BELIEVABLE! Must increase my Mylanta intake for the day!
Looks like Kerry is taking another page from Weird Al.
Maybe they'll televise the funeral and turn it into a DNC party event. Stranger things have happened.
RD: What's your position on embryonic stem cell research?
Reeve: I advocate it because I think scientists should be free to pursue every possible avenue. It appears though, at the moment, that embryonic stem cells are effective in treating acute injuries and are not able to do much about chronic injuries.
THIS WAS IN READERS DIGEST.
Someone posted yesterday that Reeves fell into the coma on Thursday, but I questioned that. I wonder if he might have been admitted to the hospital on Thursday, though, and too ill to be on the computer or even watching the debate.
When a high-maintenance patient dies, a doctor's income drops; in this case, a bunch of medical professionals are going to lose.
Ahhhhhh. Gotcha. Thx.
