I stopped by a republican campaign headquarters today to pick up a Bush-Cheney sign. I was told by the worker there that many people had been coming in to get new signs because theirs had been stolen. Upon further questioning I was told that the reason these signs were being stolen is because people were being offered a dollar a sign. Who is offering the money for these stolen signs? Does anyone know anything about this happening in the Grand Rapids Michigan area? The worker thought the money was being offered by the unions--can this be true? If it is found to be true, then something has to be done.
They are asking for a dollar a sign? Like knocking on my door and offering a measly buck for my sign?
I don't think they're knocking and asking...
They're putting a bounty on the signs, like "you bring me a (stolen) Bush sign, I pay you a buck" . . .
I think the bad guys are rewarding the theives with $1 per sign, giving them an incentive to steal signs......
Its like a pelt bounty in the Old West.
RICO bait . . .
That would be racketeering. Yes, I know, it's hard to believe a union would be involved in racketeering....
Ahh...that makes much more sense.
The last presidential election, In Illinois it was the teachers stealing the sign. The DNC was paying them to steal the signs at night. I know this because the police told me so when I complained.
Wouldn't surprise me if it were unions, private individuals, the DNC, etc. It's just pranksters. The "boys" Mama T has told us we want to keep as boys. Desperate is as desperate does.
Given this sort of thing, along with their raids of Republican offices and the mushrooming evidence of illegal voter registration, these clowns are setting themselves up for the big "October Suprise" -
Who'd a thunk it'd be self inflicted??
Sell my soul for $1? I don't get it.
If pre 9-11 terrorism is was just a "nuisance", this is nothing. < /sarc>
How much does it cost to make these signs? I see a business opportunity for the local RNC HQ if their cost is less than a dollar per sign.
Now you're thinking out of the box! Go ahead, steal all you want, we'll make more! And imagine when the first angry thief calls up the Consumer Protection people to say he brought in X number of signs to the Union Hall and they refused to pay the promised $!!!
FWIW, some hooligan (NOT ME!!!) put several of the Bush "W" bumper stickers on Kerry yard signs, so they now read "Kerry/Edwards--A Wronger America." Its an especially amusing statement for those of us who are addicted to VeggieTales.
Regarding stolen Bush-Cheney lawn signs: A liberal coating of axle grease around the edge of your sign with a dusting of itching powder may prove to be a deterrent.
BC04 People are offering bums a buck a sign and then selling them back to the people who they were stolen from. Just a thought. Boy am I a nasty businessman or what?
