Email from the democratic party
DNC | 10/12/04 | democraticparty@democrats.org

The Sinclair Broadcasting Group, a conservative broadcasting company that runs television stations in dozens of major television markets nationwide, has ordered its stations to preempt other programming and air an anti-Kerry program days before Election Day.

The so-called "documentary," called "Stolen Honor," was written, produced, and funded by extreme right-wing activists. Sinclair is using its reach to broadcast a blatantly political -- and false -- message while disguising it as "news."

And this isn't the first time the Sinclair corporate office has compromised the journalistic integrity of its stations. It ordered ABC affiliates not to air a nonpartisan tribute to our fallen U.S. soldiers, fearing the consequences for George W. Bush. It has refused to run a DNC ad that challenged Bush for citing faulty intelligence about Iraq. And Sinclair and its executives have contributed thousands of dollars to Republican causes -- and the CEO has given the maximum donation to Bush-Cheney 04.

Take Action Sinclair Broadcasting is using its television stations to disguise right-wing smears against John Kerry as news. The Democratic Party has filed a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission to protest this illegal corporate contribution to the Bush campaign.

But we need your help to stop this right-wing attack on John Kerry. An overwhelming outcry from the public may be the only way to stop Sinclair from forcing these smears onto the airwaves. There are two ways that we need to take action immediately:

I received this email today from the DNC. I joined their mailing list strictly for the entertainment value of their emails.

So I guess, if I read this correctly, the definition of a documentary is solely based on who writes, produces, and funds it. Fairheit 9/11 is a documentary, while this is a "so-called" documentary, in DNC-speak.

Yes, well, when Wesley Clark picks on the Bush record in the National Guard, Kerry says that Clark has "earned the right" to do so. I guess you only earn that right if your point of view agrees with that of the DNC.

This is the Democratic once again denying people freedom of speech. The Republicans did not do this with the despicable pack of lies in F911. The Democrats have a frightening ideology. Unless you agree with them you are not allowed to speak. Everything in Stolen Honor is true-I have not heard one Dimwit say Kerry said it wasn't.

If I recall correctly, there were several big chains of movie houses than ran -- and advertized -- F911 as a "documentary".

I also seem to recall hearing "news" anchors on CBS/ABC/NBC/CNN refer to F911 as a "documentary".

And didn't F911 get a prize from a group of Eurotrash film makers? Some sort of "golden palm" for being the best "documentary" in a European Film Festival?

The solution to the liberal angst over all this is obvious -- just have Sinclair proclaim the program a "documentary".

Like with the Politburo of old, some people's rights are more equal than others. The fact that the Kerry campaign and the dims are so in a twit over this is just going to make more want to see it. ;-}

Sorry, I thought I had. The only part I left out were their recommended action steps:

Call Sinclair's affiliates. Click here for a list of phone numbers for Sinclair stations. Call them to let them know what you think about their decision to air untrue smears about John Kerry just before Election Day.

Sign our petition. Click here to sign our petition demanding that Sinclair take their negative smears off the air.

ABSPLUTLY!!! It's a Democratic taxtic, standard operating procedure. It's the only thing they know how to do. If Sinclair cancels I am going to soooooo MAD! These tactics are the same ones being used by the extremeist gay activisits, but then they too are Democrats, taught well, and now in leadership roles within the party. But what can we do????? Surely there must be something!

Hey Jersey chick, I'm a Jersey Republican too. Glad to know you.

I love the "so called" documentary. Sort of like Michael Moore's "so called" documentary.

Ok. So John Kerry smacks the President for using labels? That's the whole basis of this. Moreover, wouldn't a democrat even wonder what all the commotion was about after reading this nonsense? Not the least bit curious?

What if Sinclair does contibute to the Bush Campaign, didn't I just read CBS/NBC contribute to the Kerry Campaign?

The Kerry campaign made threats to their licenses on national television today.
This is going to get pretty interesting....

If the DNC had to take everything off their site that was a partisan lie, it'd be easier just to shut the site down.

We are outnumbered, but growing. Hopefully Bush can win New Jersey. It will be a dog fight for sure. But a lot of people are sick of the "dirty democratic politics" that have plagued us for tears. Our newly out of the closet, gay, governor helped the Republican's cause.
