No way am I pessimistic. If we lose tonight, well, then reality sets in. If we win tonight and have 3 in Fenway, we actually have a shot to keep this from even going back to Yankee Stadium-- even with Lowe pitching Game 5. We play incredibly well in Fenway-- even that Ortiz game winner spoke to how we believe we can win there even when we give up 5 runs for the tie. We also put up runs on their best pitcher (belatedly, but they count) and their BP. I don't think any Red Sox player is scared of any pitcher they'll face in Fenway-- even Moose again.

Ahhh... great. Our ace has a distracting popping ankle. Ah well, our ace has a "tired arm" and most likely won't start even one playoff game. Dem's the breaks.

You folks up in New Hampshire get decent sports-talk radio? Mostly Red Sox fans up in those parts?
To: Mr. Mojo
It's different (though you could have used Giambi in your analogy). El Duque wasn't really expected to carry the Yankees. He was brought in out of desperation. We paid good money for Curt.

There are lots of independent Red Sox talk radio shows across the state.

re. rooting for the Moose:
And this is despite his leaving the Orioles for the Evil Empire. A lot of my fellow O's fans are rooting against him tonight.
I'm with you -- love watching Mussina pitch. I'm for the Yankees when and only when he's on the mound. I just love seeing those dollar signs smack Angelos in the eyeballs with every knuckle curve. The sad thing for Mussina is he's gotten about as much run support in NY as he did in Bal'mer, last night an exception, of course.
I loved every bit of those first six innings in which the Moose gave us the sublime in throwing.

We play incredibly well in Fenway Both the Red Sox and Yankees have road records that leave a lot to be desired. The Cardinals have incredible balance in that regard (and in other regards as well), postings identical records at home and on the road.

And A-Rod can't hit the broadside of a barn in Fenway.

Please, vote for John Kerry....

Mussina did pretty well for the first six and Mariano shut down the Dead Sox in the ninth on both nights. Lieber was none too shabby tonight.

FB: The 1966 Yankees finished tenth in a then ten-team American League. The Yanks were then owned by Columbia Broadcasting System which was no better at baseball than Cronkite was at truth. CBS put a leftist former OSS operative named Michael Burke in charge of running the Yankeees into the ground when he was not drawing attention to himself by performing in antiwar marches.
You chose 1966 to begin hating the greatest franchise in the history of sports?????
BTW, excellence and the pursuit thereof mark the right. Wallowing in failure and victimhood mark the left. John Francois Kerry roots for the Dead Sox. Hillary claims to root for the Yanks. We know better as to Hillary.
Your language and manners could use some improvement as well. Most Bosox fans are civilized like most Freepers. Stop embarassing both.

That makes Castrro smarter than Kerry among those who share their ideology. If you want to throw temper tantrums of ignorance, tthen expect to be corrected
Learn to spell then tell me about my ignorance.

1918! How's that for spelling?
At least you seem to have cleaned up your manners and your language. Congratulations! Let's see how long that lasts.

As much as I root for the Red Sox and "hate" the Yankees I understand the difference between baseball and politics, sports and the other important issues in my life.
I don't think you do. Please do not respond to me anymore. Anyone who spends as much time as you do posting comments to someone who has already asked you to stop is mentally ill.
Any further posts to me will be considered harassment.
