Linda Vester is currentlly interviewing Chad Clanton, described as a 'senior Kerry campaign advisor.'
Discussing the plans of the Sinclair broadcasting group to air "Stolen Honor," the documentary about Kerry's Vietnam war service, Clanton stated:
"They [Sinclair] better hope that we're not elected."
Vester immediately asked if that was intended as a threat to Sinclair that a Kerry administration would not renew their broadcast licenses. Clanton tried to back off, but the threat was unmistakable.
These people are thugs.
Exactly Stellar,
Swiftboat ads got great coverage sparked by the protests to the ad. I hope the panic from the far left causes the same exposure of this film.
Did this little twit actually complain that airing the movie would amount to a 90-minute free campaign ad? I guess the acceptable limit on that is only "60 Minutes". :-)
Thank you, Linda Vester, for your followup.
Thank you, glgb, for noting and posting this.
Here is the letter I sent them tonight:
Thank you for your courage in presenting this video against the backdrop of threats from thugs like Chad Clanton. I saw the video today on the StolenHonor.com website, and it was incredibly powerful. As a former liberal, I used to bemoan the fact that I was too young to take part in the antiwar demonstrations and missed out on this heroic piece of history. Now I can only thank God that in His wisdom He protected me from participating in such evil. When I saw the POWs describe the torture they underwent, it ripped my heart open. I can only beg forgiveness for being that stupid even when I was young and stupid.
There are no Sinclair stations in my area (Orlando, FL), but if you could arrange with BrightHouse Networks to show this as a pay-per-view, I would gladly pay to support this effort. In the meantime, I will be praying for you and all those involved in this project, in the words of Psalm 140:1-2, that the Lord will protect you from men of violence, who devise evil plans in their hearts. God bless you.
Sincerely,
happymom
Yes Michael Moores now declaring if nobody watches his propaganda movie he will buy all the time he needs on all the main tv stations and force feed it to the people on November 1st the day before the election! The Dims problem is they can dish it out but they cant take it! Theyre hiprocracy is beyond belief.Go Bush!
George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent

For lefties, the Constitution is merely an obstacle in their way as they seek absolute power. They are disgraceful, and we need to send them packing on Nov. 2!!!
Bush, a Republican, signed campaign finance reform, which was a creation, originally, of Democrat Russ Feingold and REPUBLICAN John McCain. Bush (a Republican, remember) has also called for an end to all 527 ads. I have also heard that the Republicans sued to stop Democratic 527 ads.
To all who say that this broadcast must be "prohibited" or "balanced with a Democrat response". Where is the GOP "equal time" for Dan Rather's CBS Evening News broadcast? Where is the "Buy one get one" requirement for Michael Moore's pay per view broadcast?
There IS no requirement to balance this programming.
Ever since the FEC decided that tv could run ads for Fahrenheit 9/11 within the "window" of the election without violating CFR laws, this type of thing is A-OK.
Achtung!!!...Herr Kerry is in the house......no telling what forms of free speech he and that looney tune wife of his will shut down.....
But in the meantime, this just hit me upside the head: Everyone's comparing this to Moore's F911, but has anyone mentioned the even closer similarity between what Sinclair wants to do and when CBS Radio forced all their affiliates to carry an hour-long interview with Bill Clinton when his doorstop, oops, book came out a few months ago? Did the left file complaints with the FCC then over that use of the public airwaves?
(If someone else already brought this up, accept my apologies, I never did get time to read the whole thread this afternoon! Just hadn't seen it before.)
This is like a black comedy from hell. I'm just waiting for the donkey to take its place alongside the swastika in the logo book of the damned.
Clanton's comments were just discussed on Fox & Friends First. Steve Doocy said they "sure sound like a threat."
I can't answer your question, but suggest that a few small showings in someone's living room might be easier to accomplish in the time remaining.
Yep. I'm ready! You are coming South to fight on the right side?
The Wall Street Journal has made Stolen Honor, and the Kerry campaign's threat to Sinclair broadcasting, the topic of its lead editorial today!

wow. i must have seen a different segment than you did... it wasn't so ugly or threatening in the context it was given, in my opinion...
thanks for the civility of your reply, but i do believe the majority here are making a mountain out of a mole hill because they want to hear it a certain way.
chad has been quoted as saying, "they better hope we are not elected" and "they better hope we don't win" ...
i heard the latter in reference to an fec appeal... and i may be in the lonely minority, but majority jack bootedness is never a good place to be.
don't get me wrong, there is plenty to be disgusted about the kerry campaign without making stuff up.
teeman
I'm not making anything up. This was a threat. An FEC appeal? You've got to be kidding. The FEC was never mentioned until AFTER Clanton made his threat.
My view of Clanton's comments is shared by everyone, except the Kerry campaign and, apparently, you. Have a look at today's lead editorial from the Wall Street Journal:
