"They Better Hope We Don't Win" - Kerry Campaign Threat to Sinclair Broadcasting
Dayside - FNC

Linda Vester is currentlly interviewing Chad Clanton, described as a 'senior Kerry campaign advisor.'
Discussing the plans of the Sinclair broadcasting group to air "Stolen Honor," the documentary about Kerry's Vietnam war service, Clanton stated:
"They [Sinclair] better hope that we're not elected."
Vester immediately asked if that was intended as a threat to Sinclair that a Kerry administration would not renew their broadcast licenses. Clanton tried to back off, but the threat was unmistakable.
These people are thugs.

This is a letter I'm sending to a group of sponsors all at once, any comments, constructive criticism welcome:
To line: Amy.Sherwood@Yum.com; Talbot.cg@pg.com; sonicpr@sonicdrivein.com; boardofdirectors@pepsi.com; consumer_relations@dpsu.com; investor.relations@brinker.com; procermexlt@corona-extra.com; ca.diraimo@applebees.com
Ladies and Gentlemen;
I am writing to support Sinclair Broadcasting's decision to air the documentary Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal. I look forward to watching it, as do my friends and family.
Please allow me to encourage you to not be moved by threats and protests from ideologues. Their protests are no more than badly disguised attempts at censorship as they seek to advance a political agenda. Believe me, the documentary will be widely watched and likely draw huge ratings.
You may know that Sylvan Learning Centers succumbed to pressure for censorship and pulled their sponsorship. There are already campaigns underway to draw support from Slyvan. By not following their example, you will draw customers you never knew you had!
Thanks for making your decision based on sound business principles and not agenda driven dogma. It will be appreciated by millions of viewers.

Yeah I believe a list from a campaign that threatens media outlets. At least the bush campaign has actual Police reports to back up their claims. These people are dangerous.

Nice letter.
Mine said that the boycotts were only threats and that I hoped they would stick with Sinclair because he is for Free Speech and the boycotters were not.

Third time this afternoon. Please voice your opinions and praise to Sinclair Broadcasting. Am I getting through? LOL
I hope you got through.
If anyone needs motivation, take a look at this thread at Daily KOS , a nasty Far-left website:
Sylvan Learning Center pulls ads from Sinclair
They appear to be very VERY busy folks, I hope we are too!

It's true that the Halperin memo seems to have disappeared into a black hole. But I believe the tide of history is with us.
And even in the short run, ABC's Charlie Gibson was on his best behavior during the last debate. I thought the questions (with the exception of the very last one trying to put W on the spot about mistakes), were the best and fairest I've ever seen in a townhall debate.

Let me get this straight. If Kerry is elected, he will be healing all the people currently in wheelchairs and making them walk again, and he will be filling all the empty wheelchairs with his political enemies?

Perhaps we should contact the Sylvan Learning Center ourselves.
Anyone have an e-mail address?

It demonestrates their confidence that they can do and say what they please and nothing will happen to them.

I would have preferred if Charlie Gibson had only moderated instead of sticking in questions himself. They were supposed to be questions from the AUDIENCE -- not from Gibson.
He should have shut up when the President told him he wanted to respond to what Kerry had just said. He was awful but not as awful as some before him.

Isn't it wonderful how both major parties support free speech??? </SARCASM>
Both parties need a twenty-year timeout from elective office.
To: Tolerance Sucks Rocks
Both parties need a twenty-year timeout from elective office. At first I thought perhaps you were a Libertarian. Then I read your tagline and realized that's impossible, since they favor . . . totally open borders!

I would not put too much hope in Registered Democrats.
In fact, from what I have read, it is the Democrats that have been causing the problems.
It was the Democrats that stormed the Republican Party Headquarters.

That's a good way of putting it. I hope people do this. Also at Kos, another lefty website just listed more sponsors. Works for me:

Links to Sinclair Advertisers
Remember in days past when puritanical mothers would band together and boycott companies who advertised on such sexually explicit shows as "Married With Children" or child brainwashing shows like "The Simpsons" or wrong-message-sending shows like "Murphy Brown"? Well, now it's our turn. Daily Kos, posted this list of Sinclair advertisers, and we've provided the links. We are asking our readers to contact these companies and object to the Sinclair Broadcasting Group's airing of "Stolen Honor," described by the Sinclair CEO as "an in-kind donation to George Bush." So make your voice heard already! Halls Fruit Breezers, Sylvan Learning Centers, Kentucky Fried Chicken, ITT Technical Institute, Ford Motor Company, Yahoo DSL, Isuzu, Hardees, Taco Bell, Century 21, Prudential, Cnn.com, General Motors, Geico, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Titan TV, Iams, Miller Lite, Ringling Brothers, Oak Express, ABC Solutions, Kentucky Lottery, Florida Lottery, NFL, Lincoln Mercury, H&R Block, Pontiac, Arby's
[my note-each link connects directly to a comment form or an email, very easy to use!]
A couple of others:
ZigZagZone -- send e-mail to smitty@zigzagzone.com
Warner Bros -- send e-mail to faces@thewb.com (many Sinclair affiliates are WB stations)
The Peach suggests that readers e-mail, phone, or write these companies and request that they withdraw their advertising or programming from SBG affiliates. Readers should also remind these sponsors that, in fact, SBG doesn't provide viewers with news, but instead
acts as another arm of the pro-Bush, Republican propoganda machine. If they want to keep their business with Sinclair, then we don't want what they are selling. Amen!!
As a member of the pro-Bush propaganda machine, I encourage everyone to click and write a few words of support fot this documentary.

Brit's panel now discussing. All agree Clanton statement was a threat, and the great Charles Krauthammer said it was "a disgrace worthy of a banana republic."

I specifically said Reg Dems, I know there is no hope for evil dums. The Reg ones need to wake up and smell the stench in their own party.
