Linda Vester is currentlly interviewing Chad Clanton, described as a 'senior Kerry campaign advisor.'

Discussing the plans of the Sinclair broadcasting group to air "Stolen Honor," the documentary about Kerry's Vietnam war service, Clanton stated:

"They [Sinclair] better hope that we're not elected."

Vester immediately asked if that was intended as a threat to Sinclair that a Kerry administration would not renew their broadcast licenses. Clanton tried to back off, but the threat was unmistakable.

These people are thugs.

Do you know how hard it is to leave me speechless? (My husband would claim it is impossible). I have read this entire thread, and all of the threads regarding the "Kerry will make sure all people in wheelchairs will get up and walk" in total shock.

I don't have words for this...how do you fight (in the war of words) with the insane? With those who have clearly and publicly threatened fellow citizens? With those that believe that the law does not apply to them? (Don't worry, I have not given up, we will fight and I pray that we will win!)

"Freaky fruit loop" - good one! I don't think I'd ever seen him before. He gave off some of the worst, strangest, vibes I'd ever seen from a national-level political spokesman. If he isn't fired after this comment, we'll have clear proof that the Kerry people are thugs - and proud of it.

If the story starts to resonate, other networks might eventually be forced to report it, much like they were ultimately forced to report on the Swift Boat Veterans.

I wonder what it would cost to get rights to broadcast this film in a small auditorium locally. I have a copy of the DVD. I could rent a projection screen and run it..and advertise it locally. Maybe a lot of us could do that if they film maker allowed it. get it out in areas where Sinclair doesnt broadcast.

Why isn't the People's Republic of Maryland a "battleground" state then?

There've been a few threads lately indicating that Maryland might, indeed, be in play. Some polls, prior to the debates, had Bush and Kerry in a tie or even Bush up by 1 or 2%.

Maryland has a Repub governor and Virginia has a liberal dem governor. I think there's hope that the tide is turning in Maryland.

Chad Clanton worked for Al Gore (Part of the “Recount Committee” in Miami-Dade in 2000 – his job there was to tail a clearly-marked GOP vehicle around the state) and was previously on the staff of consultant James Carville. He worked on Alex Sanders's failed 2002 Senate campaign in South Carolina.

He was the Spokesman for The Michigan Democratic Coordinated Campaign where he helped orchestrate a campaign where recorded phone calls claiming the following:

In another call, actor Ed Asner says that ''George W. Bush has a proposal that would undermine Social Security, even scuttling current benefits.''
