Heinz Kerry: John Would Avoid War

McALLEN, Texas — The wife of presidential candidate John Kerry (search) told a receptive audience in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas that Kerry would seek out all other options before going to war.

"John will never send a boy or girl in a uniform anywhere in the world because of our need and greed for oil," Teresa Heinz Kerry (search) told about 1,200 supporters at the McAllen Civic Center.

She said her husband, as president, would be able to approach the families of slain soldiers and say, "'I did everything I could to prevent this, I'm sorry.' "

She spoke for about an hour and was interrupted frequently by applause and cheering, The (McAllen) Monitor reported in its Monday editions.

Earlier, Heinz Kerry attended a $1,000-a-head private fund-raiser at the McAllen home of developer Alonzo Cantu. It was not immediately clear how much the event raised.

Speaking at the rally, Heinz Kerry criticized President Bush's working relationships with other nations.

"Diplomacy is not about, 'I'm telling you.' Diplomacy is about, 'what do you think?'" Heinz Kerry said. "If you cannot have respect for the other side, you cannot have diplomacy."

Heinz Kerry, switching to Spanish, encouraged supporters to go to the polls.

Kerry would seek out all other options before going to war.

Surrender, capitulation, appeasement, ignoring, paying tribute, merging, hugs, suicide, spouse abuse, coupon books, "Mr. Winky's Happy Dance"...serious drugs...

AVOID WAR?

Heck, John Kerry wouldn't arm us with "spitballs" to fight terrorists.

He'd simply make sure we were all issued enough "lubricant" so that
if detained by the terrorists, degredation would be a little less painful.

From the local paper (Monitor)

Heinz Kerry was in McAllen for both Sunday afternoon’s rally as well as a $1,000-a-head private fund-raiser held earlier in the day at the north McAllen home of developer Alonzo Cantu, a major Democratic fund-raiser in the Rio Grande Valley. As of press time, it was unclear how much was raised at the event.

Rally organizers had expected 2,000 to attend the free-of-charge rally, but there were several empty seats toward the back of the auditorium.

As one of the few Democratic strongholds in Texas, Hidalgo County’s popular vote leaned in favor of Democratic candidate Al Gore in the 2000 presidential election.

Gore garnered 61 percent of the county’s vote while Bush took 38 percent, according to statistics compiled by the federal government.

Bush won Texas with 71 percent of the vote.

I WOULD SUSPECT MORE THAN A FEW EMPTY SEATS IF THE PLAN WAS FOR 2,000 AND ONLY 1,200 SHOWED UP!

It's appeasement clear and simple. Someday the Rats will say the same thing to the 2 million American survivors of WWIII in their interment camp in Death Valley. Chilling scenario.

The "our boys in uniform" thing was a way of saying things during WWII. It's no longer true.
I'm a man in the Army. My son is a Boy Scout. I'm a Soldier, he's a boy in uniform.

The same husband who can't say that as Senator, because he didn't vote against giving Pres. GWBush the authority to use force ?

Ahhhh, TerYaSa...keep talking.

They are MEN and WOMEN, not boys and girls. And they defend our country because they choose to.

And TerYaZa, if you want to talk about OIL, you might want to ask the UN about that one.

Yep, keep talking TerYaZa......PLEASE!

Spoken in a manner that only a kept man can be spoken about - by his owner. Does everybody realize that she's going to be calling a lot of shots in a Kerry White House (shudder?!?!?!) You thought Hillary was bad?

Didn't the NY Times Magazine puff piece from yesterday describe Kerry (fleeing the Capitol) as being oh-so-angry at the 9/11 attacks and just itching to get a gun?

So that's what happened. I knew he had to have a reason for rushing by women and older folks without stopping to help.

On Hannity and Colmes, Colmes and some Dim babe defended MamaT's comments by saying that W said A-hole and Cheney said F you. Other than spin, that was the only defense. For a start, W and Cheney said those words in private conversation. Secondly, they were demoralizing the troops.
