I have a hard time believing 21% are undecided! All we need is a visit from President Bush asking Oklahomans to send him Dr. Coburn and out the window goes Brad Carson. Maybe Carson can go back to work for the Clintons! :)

Huge number of undecideds. I'm sure Carson's going to be able to plant plenty of doubt in the voters minds with his sterilization commercials and hanging the Keyes endorsement around Coburn's neck. It's too bad. What was Coburn thinking?

I really don't see 21% undecided. I do know some of the RAT campaigns have been push polling -- I personally was called in one and some people now are not telling pollsters who they are voting for -- only explanation that I can come up with. But then they blew the primary polls as well until right at the last minute -- had it all close, said it was going to be a run-off, and Dr. Tom won it going away.

Actually, this is an improvement. The previous poll by this organization showed a 44% to 37% lead for Carson. Coburn has momentum on his side.

21% can't tell the two apart based on the similar names. I expect most of them to take the easy way out and vote straight R. Expect Coburn to win by 10%.

There's been some rumours on other left wing internet sites that Carson would flip to GOP after elected. The left is in a tizzy over these rumours because they fear some of their voters won't even bother to vote.

Bush is going to win OK by close to 30. There is not enough ticket switching to take place to offset that. I think Sooner Poll is catching up with the winds of change.

Agree. There really is a sizeable amount of people who may feel one way, but can't articulate who or why.

We need this seat.

Click the link to Coburn's WEBSITE, then the DONATE icon in the upper left. Check out his stances while you're there. Most FReepers will agree with him and he has the conviction to stand tough.

I sent him some $$$ last week.

A vist by Pres Bush would be huge.

I also hope that the Coburn campaign does everything it can to tie Carson to John Kerry and northeastern liberalism.

Too bad Jane Fonda and Ted Turner are splits-ville.
Just the announcement that they were throwing a fundraiser for Mike Synar
(and resultant publicity) was enough to cost Synar his seat (and IIRC, get Coburn elected).

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Mike Synar one of those Democrat Reps who acted conservative while in Oklahoma but voted fairly liberal back in DC?

Yep.
And, having lived in Oklahoma until about 8 years ago...I SIMPLY CAN'T BELIEVE
my Oklahoma homies would send a Mike Synar clone to the US Senate over
Coburn.

39.8% to Carson's 39.2%

That's slicing things mighty thin when the sample size is 330 and the margin of error is going to be well over 4%. I don't recall, but it may be as high as 6% for a sample that small.

"There's been some rumours on other left wing internet sites that Carson would flip to GOP after elected."

This will not happen in a billion years.

Coburn will win, IF and only IF GWB pulls ahead enough to spend a few hours in Oklahoma on Coburn's behalf.
