Texas oilman T. Boone Pickens is one of many donors who have helped Swift Boat Veterans for Truth raise more than $13 million now to unmask John Kerry, who with the media establishment's aid is desperately posing as some sort of moderate.
The veterans "come from Oshkosh, Wis., and Orlando, Fla., San Francisco and Virginia Beach. One is on crutches. Others, former prisoners of war, walk stiffly, a result of being bound and tortured," the Washington Times reported today in an article headlined "Injured, angry, determined, Swiftees unite to fight Kerry."
Steve Gardner of Clover, S.C., who spent more than two months with Kerry as a gunner's mate, said: "I think John Kerry was an opportunist. And he was very ineffectual. He did everything in his own best interest. He was always carrying a little notebook with him. I assume it was his diaries. He was very aloof and disdainful of people under him."
'This Guy Who Betrayed Us'
Bud Day, 79, a major who spent six years in the horrific "Hanoi Hilton" as John McCain's cellmate, noted: "Kerry betrayed us by telling the people we were committing atrocities. A man who does that is not fit to lead. It's impossible to let this man masquerade as a war hero and someone who has leadership. To imagine this guy who betrayed us becoming president and him being the leader of our armed forces is just unthinkable."
At their bittersweet meeting in Washington, which included a dinner Friday attended by Pickens, the war heroes taped their eighth TV commercial exposing Kerry's lack of character. At times tearful, they also broke into choruses of "Row, row, row your boat," the Times reported.
Ironic, considering that these truth tellers, who hope to raise and spend $5 million more by Election Day, are making life anything but a dream for the would-be "next JFK" who betrayed them.
I thought Pickens was one of those Billionaires for Kerry.
Hell no! He's Republican all the way. Here's a link to see his contributions (just federal elections).

"I thought Pickens was one of those Billionaires for Kerry."
I think that was Buffett.
If every Freeper sent the Swifties 5 bucks, they could run lots more ads...
I stand corrected. Thank you.
After a while, all those billionaires start to look alike!

The politicos are going to want to de-fang the 527 groups. The bigger threat to the established political class is what happens when the 527's are still around next primary season, and aren't shy about supporting the candidate of the conservatives' choice -- without regard to what the RNC has to say about it

Thanks for posting the link. I didn't have the address at hand after a computer crash. Just sent 'em some ammo :-)

I too hope they can produce another hard hitting piece. But, cynic that I am, it will be judged by the MSM as just another hate Kerry spot by men who are way past their prime. What is needed is not another "this is the real Kerry in Vietnam", but a release of his navy records (which isn't going to happen unless someone breaks the rules and leaks them), or film of his actions back in this county (such as burning a flag, or even more outrageous, urinating on it). Without such evidence, I doubt, sadly, that the Swift Boat ads will have much effect on the electorate.

Sounds like Kerry hasn't changed much in the last 30 years!
We must keep firing!
Actually Pickens did support Kerry in the past and made political contributions to him just a few years ago... looks like Pickens isn't too happy with Democrats lately, though :-)
