Union Thugs Target Republicans
Wall Street Journal ^ | October 11, 2004 | John Fund

We may be about to experience an election unlike any we've seen in a while. The Florida recount in 2000 raised passions and blood pressure and featured some demonstrations on both sides, but there was no violence. This year, lots of groups are jostling with each other to monitor the elections in battleground states. For its part, the AFL-CIO has promised to dispatch thousands of election monitors to battleground states to watch for any hint of trouble at polling places. From the initial reports, they may be the ones for have to be watched as potential troublemakers.

Last week, in Orlando, Fla., approximately 60 union protestors stormed and ransacked the local Bush-Cheney headquarters causing considerable damage and injuring one campaign staffer, who suffered a broken wrist.

The AFL-CIO took credit on its Web site for similar demonstrations--apparently all coordinated--in Independence, Mo., Kansas City, Mo., Dearborn, Mich., St. Paul, Minn., and West Allis, Wis.

RICO time.

Those protestors look awful happy about things and pleased with themselves to really be worried about losing their overtime...

Please note that these violence-prone unions are usually government employee unions of one sort or another- a rude combination of thuggery, socialism, and your tax dollars at work.

John Sweeney, the head of the AFL-CIO seems awfully quiet about these events. I suppose he's accustomed to doing everthing in back rooms with no oversight or accountability.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

Unions are just the mafia without the fashion sense.

Uh, in Illinois, expect the Democrats to win. Also expect the dead to vote. Sorry.

Missouri is nice. We have two Republican Senators, a bunch of Republican Represenatives, and soon we'll have a Republican Governor. Oh, and by the way, we'll send all our Electors to vote for Mr. Bush in December.

I am going to the Bush Rally at Red Rocks Amphitheater this afternoon. It will be interesting to see if the goon squads show up.

Ah, my old buddies from the AFL-CIO are at it again. (I was a member of that union until I retired in 2003.)

I know someone whose tire was punctured, because of the Bush bumper stickers.

I agree, I live in Boulder, have had my truck "tolerantly" vandalized, and my sign stolen.

I moved here long ago because they were tolerant, even of people like me, an "evil" conservative.

I live here now just to pi$$ them off.

no....if you are in an HQ and the thugs come in, immediately fall down when they brush by you, clutch your chest and your head and start moaning...

the media can't ignore a person getting "pummelled" by the thugs, and when you go to sue the sob's, its just icing on the cake...
