Actually they believe in both, bizarrely enough. Robert Bork has chronicled this in his book Slouching Towards Gomorrah. The left is simultaneously radically egalitarian and radically individualistic. It's been awhile since I've read it so I may be mischaracterizing it a bit.

No, your memory is accurate. It's a fabulous book.

They believe in the primacy of the state in the life of the individual; but they also insist that the individual should be completely free to engage in any kind of perversion or culturally suicidal behavior. They demand that the state encourage this and quash dissenting views, which is why secularism is rigidly enforced in the schools.

Correct again. But what is worse, our society tells people, "Go ahead and do what you want, but when things go wrong, we'll save you from the consequences of your own actions!" That's an outrage. To force the hardworking to support the lazy is a slap in the face of the hardworking and encourages laziness. To force the moral to support the immoral is a slap in the face of the moral and encourages immorality.

If people want to do what they want, let them suffer the consequences of their actions. Don't go crying to the government.

I read somewhere that Islam is actually less strict on homosexuality than Christianity and Judaism. This article even inferred that many young muslim men have their first sexual experience as teens with other male teens.

Muslims are the biggest pack of buttboys on the planet. It's normal for even married men to indulge.

Having said that, there's no way they would tolerate sodomarriage.

Definitely not. Men are expected to marry women and sire children. If a man does that, no one cares if he keeps a entire harem of boys.

Many cultures have tolerated homosexual activity, but none (until our own) treated homosexuality as equally acceptable to heterosexuality. Men have universally been expected to marry women. In other words, homosexuality was and is acceptable as a side dish, not the main course.

You appear to lack Christian charity. Surely you must believe that there is one Muslim somewhere on Earth that does not hate!

Thanks for the response and very well stated. I think Christians and other un-pc types are fooling themselves if they think that the left will stop at recognition of same sex marriage. The endgame isn't just government approval of a sinful lifestyle, it's absolute 100% acceptance of this lifestyle by all people.

That's why we see laws against the criticism of homosexuality beginning to crop up in Canada and Sweden. The Christian Church (most of it, anyway) is the last major cultural institution that actively encourages people to resist the leftist cultural revolution. It's no surprise that leftists invests so much time and resources in overthrowing Christian denominations, or react so bitterly and wrathfully when they fail (Southern Baptists.)

It's not a conspiracy as such, they just do what comes naturally.

Good read.thanks

"The great conflict of the 21st century may be between the West and terrorism. But terrorism is a tactic, not a belief.

Terrorism is a tactic that stems from a belief.(I'd like to hear his definition of 'belief')

"The underlying battle will be between modern civilization and anti-modernist fanatics...

I'd also like to hear his definition of 'modern civilization'

"...between those who believe in the primacy of the individual and those who believe that human beings owe blind allegiance to a higher authority...

Nobody owes anyone 'blind allegiance' especially christians.

"...between those who give priority to life in this world and those who believe that human life is no more than preparation for an existence beyond life..."

So life is 'nothing more' than a prep for the next life? So then because his own world view is absolutely true, there is no 'next life' therefore it's a waste of time.

"...between those who believe that truth is revealed solely through scripture and religious dogma, and those who rely primarily on science, reason, and logic."

As if the two are opposed to each other.Does that mean that sodomy and it's almost free reign are a result of "science, reason and logic"?

"Terrorism will disrupt and destroy lives. But terrorism is not the only danger we face."

He sure got that right! It's just the details I'd disagree with.

Good points all, Mitch.

My take on Reich is that he is a secularist and cannot see that many of his comments are those of a true believer in his own brand of religion.

Absolutely. Homosexual activists want nothing short than 100% acceptance of their lifestyle. To disapprove of homosexuality, or to refuse to genuflect before any other liberal icon, is to be guilty of "hate."

That's why we see laws against the criticism of homosexuality beginning to crop up in Canada and Sweden. The left hates religion (especially the organized variety) because religion demands a higher loyalty to and teaches a rival set of moral standards than the State. The leftist-controlled State demands absolutely loyalty from its subjects and in exchange offers security. The leftist State is also the sole arbiter of what is right and wrong, which, as the history of totalitarian regimes shows, can actually vary considerably from time to time, depending on the exigencies of the moment. It's not a conspiracy as such, they just do what comes naturally.
