The ad actually makes Kerry's statement look better than it was.
They need to say Kerry has a September 10th mentality and wants to get back to the September 10th way of looking at terrorism. They need to compare the "nuisance" with "swatting at flies". They do none of that. The way Kerry talks about it is a huge revelation which blows the cover off of all of his tough talk, but this ad is so bad, it actually helps Kerry.

The Add is devastating and scary to think that John Kerry devalues the lives of 3000 American Citzens that died on 9/11 and attributes their deaths to a nuisance. Because John Kerry learned no lesson from 911 should be reason enough that he cannot be trusted to protect America. I knew all along ever since John Kerry started beating up the president on the War and on the Tax cuts... John Kerry just doesn't get it. He didn't learn the lessons of 9/11 .. He fails to imagine the gathering threats that materialized on that day and he gives no credit to the Presidents administration for saving this country from certain economic ruin.. Osama Bin Laden struck the heart of our financial instituions for a reason to kill our life blood, capitalism at its heart but because of this president we survived and got stronger and all John Kerry can do is berate him about losing Jobs, criticize him for giving tax cuts to stimulate the economy.. George W. Bush saved the United States from certain economic depression and probably unrecoverable failure and he gets criticized for it. John Kerry fails to realize the lessons that 3000 American citizens paid their lives for him to learn. He has been on the wrong side of every major issue since returning from vietnam he was wrong for america then and he is certainly wrong for america now.

New President of the USA Calls for First International Nuisances Summit.

Immediately favourable responses starting coming in from the Corrupt Caftan Capitals of the World.

Leaders of many nations' UN delegations in NYC roared with approval. "Maybe we can get the Oil Bribe Money Channels Opened Up, Again" said more than one.

Osama wired his interest, indicating Kerry might release Tarik Aziz to attend, on his behalf.

I don't know...I think the ad is weak. It has potential, but the way it is done, does make it seem his words were taken out of context.

Whoever suggested playing on going back to the September 10th mentality, I believe, has a better take on the comment than the ad as it stands. We can never go back to the "September 10th" way of thinking, because if we do, we again make ourselves vulnerable.

Script For "World View"

Voice Over:
First, Kerry said defeating terrorism was really MORE about law enforcement and intelligence than a strong military operation...

More about law enforcement than a strong military?

Now Kerry says... We have to get back to the place where terrorists are a nuisance like gambling and prostitution... we're never going to end them.

Terrorism... a nuisance?

How can Kerry protect us when he doesn't understand the threat?

President Bush:
I'm George W. Bush and I approve this message.

"When I asked Kerry what it would take for Americans to feel safe again, he displayed a much less apocalyptic worldview. ''We have to get back to the place we were, where terrorists are not the focus of our lives, but they're a nuisance,'' Kerry said. ''As a former law-enforcement person, I know we're never going to end prostitution. We're never going to end illegal gambling. But we're going to reduce it, organized crime, to a level where it isn't on the rise. It isn't threatening people's lives every day, and fundamentally, it's something that you continue to fight, but it's not threatening the fabric of your life.''

Kerry's so stupid to say this but I bet he didn't believe the New York Times would print his remarks about gambling and prostitution to be on par with terrorism. Now that's plain ignorant. All we need do is remember 1993 World Trade Center bombings. That was treated like a law enforcement matter.
