The Bush team and GOP need to capitalize on this with the perspective of "swatting at flies."
Kerry talks about "getting back to" where terrorism was just viewed as a nuisance. That is how 9/11 happened. The Cole bombing and the embassy bombings and the WTC bombing were all treated like "nuisances."
This is the point they need to make. Forget the nonsense about prostitution or whatever. That's confused and a missed opportunity.

You know, if you read the whole article it is funny that by the end, even the reporter seem strangely confused about why someone would say something like that after 9/11 and I am sure he wasn't a staunch conservative considering where he works.

Kerry let slip what the left in this country already thinks. That terror (or terra, as they mockingly refer to in in DULand)isn't a threat.
The real threat to these people is George W.Bush and the Republicans. They believe W is responsible for the towers falling. Kerry believes in the Michael Moore school or thought. Our biggest problem according to these people is health care, the environment and education. It is amazing that in this day an age we have people who believe in something akin to the Flat Earth Society, but true.
