Strikeout Kerry blows the second debate.
Slate ^ | Oct. 9, 2004 | William Saletan

In honor of the baseball playoffs, I've borrowed the metaphor of a ninth-inning rally to describe the Democrats' October comeback. In the first presidential debate, John Kerry got the lead-off hit. In the vice-presidential encounter Tuesday night, John Edwards singled him to third. I guess they substituted a pinch runner (that's the problem with metaphors), because tonight Kerry was back at the plate. It was a long at-bat, with lots of hanging sliders thrown by President Bush. Kerry fouled off a few, whiffed a couple, and struck out looking. Bush did well. He botched a few answers—at one point, he said our military should be "more facile"—but he was well-prepared, energetic, and frequently incisive. Democrats thought he'd have trouble fielding hostile questions. They were wrong.

Yet another column employing the debates as a tool to get the writer's beliefs across.

His own chief weapons inspector says the rationale for the war was false—and the president still won't admit it?

Duelfer didn't say that. When asked specifically if he could fault the U.S. or any other country for believing that Saddam had WMD, Duelfer said he could not. He also explains in the report that Saddam's own generals, and some members of his regime, weren't sure whether he had them or not.

I guess you really shouldn't expect much from someone who thinks Edwards won the VP debate by "staying on message." I wonder if that was before or after he unraveled into incoherency?

I read this putrid filth's article and he is worse than Terry McAulife and Kerry put together.

Don't bother to click over and read the article. I did it for you. The guy only bemoans that Kerry wasn't any more filthy than he already is and tell even bigger lies and undermine common sense with more dem subterfuge. To read the article is to behold evil...don't bother and just bask in the President's victory glow.

Only Remember the authors last name (Saleton, William) so you can be sure where the evil stench is coming from next time he might appear on television...

Actually the new report says he was justified for going after Iraq, but that will get no play.

Now the third debate is the rubber game. What do Bush and Rove have up their sleeve? They wanted three debates instead of two. (Not including the VP debate.)

Well, Saletan shows more honesty than turncoat, liar, and Mel Gibson hater, Andrew Sullivan, who pretends he is a conservative while pushing liberal links on his blow-hard blog.
