Let's put the St Louis debate in the language of the popular culture. WHo did Bush and Kerry remind you of?
John Wayne dealing with a horse thief?
Dad taking Junior to the woodshed?
Ward Cleaver and Beaver?
James Bond and Mini-me?
A four-star general whipping a raw recruit into shape?
John Wayne and the Dandy.
A President putting a political hack in his place.
The statesman vs the pretender.
Steve-o the Crocodile Hunter wrangling The Snake (what WAS that tongue thing that Kerry had going?!)
G' morning, LIz..Was I the only one who noticed that Kerry seemed/looked tired, and this after taking everal days off, no camapaign stops, to prepare..
Needle vs. Windbag
I was reminded of a line from Blazing Saddles:
"How about a nice round of applause for the Waco Kid?"
Good vs. Evil
Dubya opening a can of Whoop-Ass.
Road Runner vs. Wile E. Coyote
I watched only around 30 seconds of it. Decided I would read it in print later, and I'm glad I did it that way. It was much more enjoyable.
But in the few moments I heard, I immediately thought Kerry sounded remarkably like my old liberal college professors, sitting on high while they lectured us lowly plebians.
I thought right away, he's not going to get anywhere with that snobby know-it-all stuff. I can't be the only one thinking it sounded like he was talking down to the audience either.
So I will say a college professor vs. the regular guy next door.
Gandalf vs. Wormtongue
.....a thuggish "giant" who got slain by the brave David........
Right.....a moral battle as in the LOTR.............
The short scrappy kid on the playground finally saying enough is enough and bitch slapping the bully.
Bluto in Animal House, smashing the folksinger's guitar.
Yes one smooth stone is all it takes....
