It looks like Knowles is going to be successful in his RINO hunt.

For comparison, about this time two years ago Ivan Moore's firm showed Fran Ulmer with a 46-43 lead over Frank Murkowski. Murkowski won by 58-39%.

The poll shows Tony Knowles over Lisa Murkowski, 48% to 45%. But it's other numbers which worry me. The same poll shows Murkowski with a 43% negative rating. It's hard to win an election with that kind of number, though not impossible.

I keep getting polled, day after day, on this one. The 'poll' try to pitch Tony with heavy NY accents - but no sale. I was here where he was the mayor (we still pay for his mistakes) and watched the state sink under his welfare for the boonies schemes.

I would rather vote for a goat than Tony.... ugh!

Right, the same poll. Same poll.

Why in the world did Murkowski appoint his own daughter? Ego? Because he could?

Not many politicals I detest more than phony tony either.

I remember back when lisa was elected to house seat in anch. All she could talk about was social issues concerning women and how govt had to vastly expand spending. I thought I was watching a kennedy or something.

I still can't bring myself to vote for her, even if knowles gets in. The repubs have only themselves to blame and nobody else for the loss of this seat. If they would have run anyone of several respectable repubs that have proven track records; they would have won this seat hands down; without spending 1.75 million; without spending anything.

The repubs always win up here except when they split the conservative vote. I think many conservatives will not even vote for lisa. This is an easy win for dems; they can't even believe its happening.

Ya know, if the repub leadership and the old man Murkowski himself don't care if a dem gets elected; why should I? Can't vote for lisa in good conscious; life doesn't change that much for me here rural alaska anyway no matter who is in. I don't let it.

I was up in Juneau last week on vacation and looked around. I saw Knowles signs in a lot of yards and assumed that this was probably a lot of state workers (aka union), but I did not see Murkowski's signs anywhere even on the roadsides. I don't claim to know anything about AK politics, but is she even campaigning or is Juneau even in play? I could be like campaigning in downtown Seattle (using an example in my backyard). The GOP in the state basically concedes that we won't make much of a dent and we focus on swing areas?
