No way. A good performance by bush in the first debate might have resolved the election once and for all.

Agreed. Bush just had a bad night.
I think he put the election away though tonight.
I have said this a couple times already but to me it bears repeating.
The moment the election was locked was "Need some wood?"
Bush showed in his folksy way as only he could that Kerry is a slimey politician who will lie and say anything to get elected. Trust me, Many many many truly undecideds abandined Kerry at that moment.
