CONTROVERSY HITS ABC NEWS POLITICAL DIRECTOR MARK HALPERIN... EXCLUSIVE DEVELOPING... An internal memo written by ABCNEWS Political Director Mark Halperin admonishes ABC staff during coverage of Democrat Kerry and Republican Bush -- not to 'reflexively and artificially hold both sides 'equally' accountable'...
I saw that on Drudge's site and started laughing -- copied many times and impossible to read from the .jpg -- remind anyone of other memos passed around recently?? I hope Drudge's sources are correct or else we've been taken like CBS was.
I have known the MSM is biased for some time. But this and the Rather scandal just completely floor me. I cannot believe just HOW MUCH they are working to see Kerry win. Shameless.
Someone wrote on another post, what the postscript of this election would be. It was something like this. #1 - Media surpised at the size of the Bush win. #2 - Media bias is clearly documented. # 3- rise of the new media.
These guys just don't get it. Fox News is cleaning their clock and they just don't get it. The people are fed up with this crap. I hope it blows up in their faces, opens an FCC case against all the "mainstream" media and they all lose their licenses. They've already lost me as a viewer, and their sponsors have lost me as a customer. Soon I will only be able to buy from Fox News sponsors.
[sarcasm] How dirty of Bush to bring up the topic of Kerry's record [/sarcasm]
Poor widdle Johnny needs MSM to defend him.
While not surprising, your memo essentially ordering ABC News staff to tilt their coverage even more in Senator Kerry's favor is nonetheless shameful beyond words. The ABC bias against anything Republican or conservative is already blatant enough that you lost credibility long ago. For you to now order your underlings to crank it up a notch rises to the level of repulsive.
ABC stations will be removed from the channel lineups on each of the several televisions in my household, and I'll be sure to let our local affiliate station, along with advertisers, know exactly why.

what little veil was left has fallen from the MSM's ugly face.
this is Nazi propaganda, pure and simple.
Krystalnacht [sp?] surely cannot be that far behind.
I am livid, and she could hear that in my voice, but at the end, I said "I realize you are just his secretary, so please, have a good day" or some such thing.
The Media wing of the Democrat party joins the hysterical melt down of the other party wings. The union attacks on Republican offices are another symptom of institutional hysteria.
people thought the same thing about the cbs memo.
I thought that if another media outlet smelled blood in the water, they'd pounce on it to go after the competition.
There's an outside chance of it happening with this too - say a network that wants to prove it isn't biased by reporting on someone else's bias.
My money in that scenario would be cbs - as payback to ABC for going after them.
She had to put me on hold twice just to answer other lines :)
I called 212 456-2700 and spoke with Miguel. Very nice guy. Has no interest in this thing of course but he got the message as he's trying to prepare for the debate.
I find this memo as stunning in its own way as Dan Rather and Memogate -- because it is once and for all publicly exposing, for all the world to see, exactly what we've always known about the MSM.
Just got through to ABC Pres office and they indicated they are getting lots of calls. Keep it up guys.
is it just me or is that the worst scanned in memo? I cannot read anything on it
I'M ON HOLD!
I just called Halperin's Sky Page number....We shall see.

May God abundantly bless the moral conscious within ABC News who leaked this memo.
Hoooooo. I need to cool off. I am not normally a man given to anger, but Halperin is spouting off in this memo like the soviet All-Peoples Minister for Information and Culture, or some such thing.

Here are a few interesting links, apparently Halperin isn't afraid to admit his (and the MSM) liberal bias.
