Bush-Cheney '04 Launches New Television Advertisement, "Nearly Two Million"
George W. Bush ^ | October 8, 2004

Posted on 10/08/2004 9:42:38 AM PDT by RWR8189

ARLINGTON, VA -- Today, Bush-Cheney '04 announced the release of the campaign's newest television advertisement, "Nearly Two Million."  Thanks to the President's pro-growth policies, our economy has gained nearly two million new jobs in just over a year.  The ad will run on national cable.

Script For "Nearly Two Million"

Voice Over:
There are many reasons to be hopeful about America's future.
Nearly two million new jobs in just over a year.
Nearly two million more people back working.
Nearly two million more people with wages.
Nearly two million more people with more security.
Nearly two million more people able to provide for their families.
Nearly two million more reasons why Americans are optimistic about our future.

President Bush:
I'm George W. Bush and I approve this message.

This is exactly what bush needs to say. The job numbers for last month weren't great, but the upward revisions for the past year were!
Bottom line: 2 million new jobs have been created in the last year and a half. That is huge, and Kerry can't explain it away.

Not bad, but there should have been a reference to 9/11 disrupting the economy.

No, don't mix messages. Anyway the left has been criticising Bush for (in their words) answering 9-11 to every question, throwing that in just plays into their hands. Save 9-11 for where it will actually help: foreign policy and defense.

"That is huge, and Kerry can't explain it away"

I'd like to hear someone ask Kerry to go ahead and explain WHY we had "nearly 2 million new jobs" created in the past year if the economy is in such a shambles.

(PS - Minor quibble: Calling this ad "nearly 2 million" sorta points out that its NOT 2 million IMO)

I did not know about this ad, but I mentioned the "two million" number on another thread. A freeper told me "that's not very many"!

Ya just can't please some folks. The way I see it, 2 million a year, over a 4-year term, would be 8 million jobs -- which is about what Kerry says he will achieve (by raising taxes and punishing businesses). I think Bush is on good ground here.

None of your listings include a president who received a direct attack on our economic system like the Twin Towers were attacked. All things considered, that number would be far worse if Clinton or Kerry were president. Thank God for Bush's brilliant tax cut stimulations.

Not to mention the growing layoffs before and during the transition from Clinton to Bush when the tech bubble burst!

Yeh the burst of the tech bubble, which the MSM refused to report on, although it was well underway until Bush was inaugurated, and then they couldn't shut up about it.
