Maybe Jack Ryan could have actually beaten Obama. Keyes will lose in spectacular fashion.

Quit living in the past.

Keyes is our candidate, and defeatism only helps Obama.

ET. Get off the Keyes bit, he is like a ten time loser. There are new GOP Blacks that will do far better, focus on them. They need your support stop focusing on keyes, no one else is. Besides, he is a bit nuts!

Nice smear job. Keyes isn't nuts, but those who claim to be conservatives or Republicans and yet declare defeat weeks before a single vote has been cast certainly qualify for that title.

What's with you people?

Obama is a socialist who can still be stopped, if the people of Illinois will take a close look at who these two men really are and what kind of a future they each represent.

Just a heads-up for you, Jim.

Wanted you to know that there are good things happening at the grassroots here, and that we intend to slug this out until the last vote is cast.

The first Keyes/Obama debate is on Tuesday night. It is a radio debate, but C-SPAN will have their cameras there for later rebroadcast. So in a sense, this radio debate will through that means turn into a TV debate.

Then there are two true TV debates to follow.

Defintely 'Must See TV"! ;-)

Its just a bit frustrating that Ryan was torpedoed by a sex scandal that involved sex between a husband and wife. Who cares, especially if it results in the election of the sure-to-be far left Obama?

Well, this is not a time for your frustrations to rule your actions.

Go win Keyes a hundred votes and do something constructive.

Keyes should be removed from public view, with the use of a straight-jacket, if necessary

I live in Illinois and I care. Keyes has said some things I don't like. However, I'm looking for a reason to vote for him and he's on the money regarding the political machine in Illinois. Politics is so corrupt on both sides of the aisle here. It would be refreshing to have an outsider who is not beholden to the Dailey/Madigan cronyism that drives this state.

We desperately need another airport in the Chicagoland area. O'Hare is dangerously over-used. I know, I'm in it all the time. I fly in from central Illinois on a commuter, to catch a "big plane" to get to my actual destination. If I don't leave from here before 10 AM, I am guaranteed to sit on the tarmac, HERE, for 20-40 minutes just to clearance from O'Hare to take off. Then of course, there's the diversion out over the Lake once we get to Chicago. Then there's the fact that you've missed your original flight out of O'Hare and by the time you actually get to where you're going, you're another year older. But Dailey won't allow the Peotone airport option to be considered. O'Hare has the worst on-time record of any airport in the nation. It is an accident waiting to happen.

I'd never vote for Obama, but I am looking for a reason to vote for Keyes. Ryan is history (and in my opinion, rightly so).

Keyes has a "legend in his own mind" quality that rubs people the wrong way.

Obama comes across as reasonable, rational. Keyes does not.

And I'll be frank with you. I don't care what the polls and the media and the pundits say. At the end of the day, the priority of my campaign is to free the people of this state from the domination of a morally and politically corrupt understanding of politics.

Keyes is a candidate who wants to change opinion in America rather than just reflect it.

Win or lose, it's refreshing to occasionally have a candidate like Keyes. Heroic campaign!!

Not a smear, I used to love the guy and he is right about a lot of stuff, but he can't win. And anyone that comes back beating after beating is a bit nuts. God Bless him.

torpedoed by a sex scandal that involved sex between a husband and wife.

Not just sex, from what I understand, but a discussion or two about sex. It was certainly a travesty--and it was a travesty helped along by the judicial branch for political interests.

That said, Keyes would make an outstanding senator for Illinois. I hope the people there are enlightened to this fact in the coming debates.

There's a fine line between insanity and courage. Keyes may or may not win the election, but he will certainly be a force for good in the process that will include, by the way, attempts across the board by people on both sides of the political aisle to destroy his reputation. He needs and deserves the support of all good-hearted people who are aligned with his general principles of good government, IMO.

Actually being from IL your opinion is worth 100 times those who aren't.

And its worth 1000 times those that bash the conservative candidate on a conservative website.

I am looking for a reason to vote for Keyes.

Here are several you may consider:

  1. Judges are chosen with the advice and consent of the Senate, and the Senate minority is stonewalling the process. Keyes could help overcome this. Obama would contribute to it, or worse, if the Republican Party loses control over the Senate.
  2. The war on terror needs people who understand the nature of the enemy. Keyes does, and has been very supportive of President Bush's efforts in that regard
  3. For his exposure of the political machinery in your state as well as, truthfully, in many places.
  4. Topinka would be flooded out by the tidal wave of conservatives no longer too distressed to stand up to her.
  5. Unconditional support for the end of the income tax in the Senate. So far, Senators talk a good game about "keep(ing) your concerns in mind" (I have the letters to prove it), but do not back it up. Keyes would.
  6. Principled arguments against liberalism that is sorely lacking in public office.
Did you need something in particular? Search here. I don't work on the Keyes campaign, but I'm fairly familiar with his stances, and I might be able to answer any questions/concerns you may have.
