LOS ANGELES TIMES COLUMN:BUSH WORST PRESIDENT IN AMERICAN HISTORY(Jonathan Chait)
Drudge ^ | 10/8/04 | Drudge

In a Los Angeles Times column (10/8), Jonathan Chait says, "To say that I consider Bush a 'bad' president would be a severe understatement. I think he's bad in a way that redefines my understanding of the word 'bad.'

"I used to think U.S. history had many bad presidents. Now, my 'bad' category consists entirely of George W. Bush, with every previous president redefined as 'good.'

"There's also the fact that, on a personal level, I despise him with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns. What I'm saying is, advocating Bush is kind of tricky." But "what I'll argue instead is that his very awfulness is the reason he deserves reelection. Begin with the premise that a second-term Bush administration is unlikely to make things a whole lot worse." Bush's presidency "is a great mass of contradictions. There's an enormous gap between his purported values - fiscal discipline, toughness against terrorists, a commitment to social conservatism - and his true record.

"Sure, it would be emotionally satisfying to see Bush rejected by the voters once again. But maybe, for this president, defeat is too kind a fate."

Personally from what I know of the LA Times it is probably the worst newspaper in history, and that includes the Boston Globe.

Chait's someone who has been in serious need of psychiatric treatment for several years. He's the leading victim of Bush Derangement Syndrome, as the other people who suffer from BDS already were showing signs of derangement long before Dubya came onto the national scene.

Well here it comes. The media wing of the DNC has started their free campaigning for Kerry.

Abraham Lincoln during his time was called one of the worst presidents ever by the newspapers of his day. We'll see how President Bush is judged by history. MSM liberal writers don't control history.

What a LIE!

The association of political scientists and historians, a group of non-partisans, about 99% Democrat, (LOL) who have been rating presidents (on their accomplishments, NOT their private lives) for decades, HAVE ALREADY rated Dubya ABOVE Clinton, after only four years.

"There's also the fact that, on a personal level, I despise him with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns"

He seems to be channeling Diane Chambers from Cheers here. Interesting--this is what she said to Sam Malone--but we all know how she REALLY felt. Maybe there's another side to Mr. Chait we're not seeing :)

A couple observations;

1. This guy is preaching to the choir. The degenerate, socialist elite her in CA is who reads this as if it was un-biased.

2. It would seen that the last sentence is a not so veiled threat on the presidents life. Does the FBI know about this?

He has a right to his opinion, no matter how inane and stupid that might be..

I guess he thought that Clinton, the real worst president in the last century(adulterer, lier, perjurer, etc.) was the best thing since sliced bread..

These dweebs make me want to commit acts of violence against them, though I will refrain...
