DEBATE TIPS FOR THE CHIEF
New York Post ^ | 10/07/04 | DICK MORRIS

Posted on 10/07/2004 12:05:07 AM PDT by kattracks

When Kerry says we shouldn't have attacked Saddam because he wasn't involved in the 9/11 conspiracy . . .

. . . Bush's answer ought to be: "Japan attacked us at Pearl Harbor. Hitler had nothing to do with it. But FDR realized we needed to fight all fascism, not just the fascist regime that attacked us. Yes, Hitler made it easy on FDR by declaring war on us. But if he hadn't, does anyone doubt that Roosevelt would have gone to war with Germany anyway?"

[snip]

When Kerry calls the war in Iraq a mistake and a diversion from the War on Terror . . .

. . . Bush should hit him between the eyes: "Al Qeada operatives are congregating in Iraq. We can kill them there before they can spread mayhem around the world. If we can hunt down those who would attack us in the caves of Pakistan and of Afghanistan and the streets of Fallujah and Baghdad, how is that a diversion from the War on Terror? It's not. It is fundamental to success in that war."

[snip]

And when Kerry accuses Bush of neglecting our allies . . .

. . . The president must set the record straight: "We have the single most important ally in the fight against terror: Pakistan is helping us hunt down terrorists who have escaped from Afghanistan. As to France, Germany and Russia, the evidence of the Oil-for-Food scandal suggests that no amount of diplomacy would have induced them to abandon a regime that was paying them vast sums of money to stay loyal."

[snip]

If the presidents works on his moves, he'll be back in the race.

Back in the race? He's never been out of the race.

I read this just before you posted it and thought the same thing about that last line.

If anyone was lamenting bush's standing in the presidential race, all they need to do is ask themselves where they'd rather bush be- where HE is right now, or where kerry is right now?

Kerry was "resting" again today.

I'm beginning to get suspicious of that.

An important point; the US was at war with Germany prior to Pearl Harbor. We were fighting German naval units in the Atlantic to take pressure off the British Navy. The German DOW simply made it easier for FDR to formally deal with the German menace (and their Italian and French allies).

Kerry was "resting" again today.

Well you did see his "drunken" response to the RNC, right?

That man sure has a rigorous schedule - work 2-3 days and then 'rest' for a few.

Now if only we could get Bush, Rove, and Gillespie to read this. They need to spend more time explaining to the average ignorant citizen why we have done what we did.

i hate to admit it, but this is good stuff... since when does the New York Post hope to help the Pres.? I am dumbfounded. It's almost as bad as David Greggory of NBC saying, hey, duh, I thought Bush won the debate, but my friends told me Kerry did, so I just changed my mind...

doy doy doy

Kerry's a turd

I love ya, Morris, (in a platonic way, mind you), but if you could find the time to help the phreakin Clintons, (while putting up with all of Hillary's sh*t, and getting slugged in the face by Bill), why can't you hoof it back to the White House and help our buddy W directly, instead of trying to advise him via the mass media?

Don't you kinda sorta kinda OWE it to us, Dick?

That's why he's nothing but a gigilo.

It is an act of insanity to "debate" a liar with no character..

Kerry is a liar with no character.

I would think that a duel would be a hell of a lot more rational and productive...

Failing that -- I would simply suggest that President Bush show up with a very sharp pencil, and USE IT...

That's true, but I still find it disturbing that this jerk seems to be within striking distance of W. If he wins, I'd be wishing Gore won in 2000 so Kerry wouldn't have run.

"...since when does the New York Post hope to help the Pres.?..."

The NYP has provided solid support to the President since his first day in office.

I wonder if you have the NYP confused with another paper published in the same city?

Lurch campaigns before he decides not to campaign.

Bush should also hit Lurch when Lurch asks about jobs moving overseas: "If it's good enough for Hienz..." Also, ask Lurch if he's really willing to punish people for being successful by rolling back the tax cuts, thereby discouraging companies from investing in growth.

UPDATED CAMPAIGN SIGNS FROM KERRY CAMPAIGN.

PLEASE DISTRIBUTE WIDELY... if it passes your global test, of course.

It's not as close where it counts - in the electoral college.
