ELLICOTT CITY, Md. -- Howard County police have arrested a husband and wife for the destruction of a political sign in Ellicott City. Police said Peter Lizon, 30 and Stephanie Louise Lizon, 34, both of Randallstown, were charged with destruction of property. Police observed them cutting down a Bush-Cheney sign on U.S. Route 40 during a surveillance operation over the weekend. Investigators said a number of Republican political signs have been vandalized over the last few weeks in Ellicott City. Police set up a surveillance operation last week and saw Cory Robert Cooke, 33, of Ellicott City, cut down a Bush-Cheney sign. Following Cooke's arrest, another sign was destroyed, so police continued their observations. Over the weekend, they observed the Lizons cutting down the sign and arrested the couple immediately. Police continue to investigate other cases, including signs what were cut, painted and burned. It is not known if Cooke or the Lizons will face additional charges.

I hope no one questions the Lizons' patriotism or their love for the Bill of Rights, particularly the First Amendment.

That would be unjust.

Don't let dems obfuscate the issue by claiming it was minor vandalism. This was criminal intent do destroy property.

Here's something you won't see in E. Michael McCan'ts Milwaukee, even though the same is happening here.

Republican signs are destroyed in my town every election cycle.

The dems become absolutely rabid. I had to tell a Bush hater who came into my office to knock it off or leave. He shut up immediately.

Oh, they were just gathering nesting material.

You see, for the next four years they will be in hibernation.

Good, I hope they catch all the people who are trying to turn American elections into something out of the third world. This isn't a banana republic and we're not going to let these moral midgets make us into one.

Sentence them to two months in jail, starting immediately, no time out to go do things like -- I don't know, VOTE. It would be hilarious for these people to miss their opportunity to vote because they were in jail for vandalizing signs and stifling political speech. The irony would be priceless.

I was in Appleton Wisconsin yesterday and due to a detour I had to drive thru a residential neighborhood. I noticed a whole lot of parked cars around a house which was plastered with signs for every liberal under the sun. I had a few minutes to kill and a cup of fresh espresso americano to drink before my appointment, so I decided to observe what was going on. It seemed to be a command post for liberals. They would leave individually all whipped up yelling and screaming to one another on the way to their cars. As some would leave, some would arrive.

I suspect it's these types of operations making seemingly normal people become unusually crazed whacko's. In Madison, someone is going around to every yard with a Bush sign and tank spraying a huge swastika in their yard. It's only two days after the event that the swastika shows up in the dying browned grass.

Liberals are really sick folks and so easily motivated to become the horrible little minds they profess to battle. A lot of hypocracy goin on. It will be years before it registers in their heads, if at all.

My neighbor has up a Kerry/Edwards sign. I have to fight with myself from going over there and stomping on it.

Same here. In our county, registered Dems outnumber Republicans 3.5 to 1 (statewide, 2 to 1), and they stole every single Bush sign we put out along the roads in 2000.

I wonder...

Can these Rats be brought to Civil court?
The willful denial of a Constitutional right to free speech?
