Did anyone else believe that Edward's had no right to announce to the entire world that Cheney's daughter is gay? No matter if she is out to family and friends, I found it kind of appalling that John Edward's would use this fact about Cheney's family to announce it to the country. Memo to John: SHOVE IT.
She was already out in public.
My mom was stunned that he did such a thing. I wonder how many people watching actually knew about Cheney's daughter, although my mom knew about it.
I thought everyone knew that. Didn't he get a question about his daughter in the 2000 VP debate?
Common knowledge.
Precisely. Cheney response was so classy. Some things are sacred, like the love of a father and daughter. Edwards is a compete a$$hole.
Oh please...everyone knows she's gay. Cheney handled it with class and as a parent.
This has been known for quite some time. Incidentally, Liberace and Rock Hudson were gay, too.
It's common knowledge, but classless on John-Boy's part. Pandering to the gay vote, you know. Cheney handled it very well.
I walked back into the room when Cheney was saying somehting like: Thank you for saying nice things about my family. And then Edwards smiled and nodded his head. I thought Cheney was being sarcastic. Was I right?
I thought it was very mean spirited.
Common knowledge for at least 4 years now...
I had no problem with the way that Edwards handled that particular statement, and it didn't look like Cheney did either.
She outed herself in 2000. This thread is idiotic.
His comments were rude and uncalled for especially the I think he cares about line... How can you say you think someone cares about their daughter...???
EDWARDS - STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES...
He didn't out anyone. It's common knowledg that Cheney has a lesbian daughter. They even have campaigned together.
That remark by Edwards shocked me. Even I didn't think he was that sleazy. What a heartless scumbag.
Very bad.
It may be common knowledge inside the beltway, and believe me, I have plenty of gay friends and family, however I was struck how he used it as a wedge between the administration's position on gay marriage and Cheney's personal relationship with his daughter. I thought it was a cheap shot in the worst way.
I knew too but for JE to bring her in to the debate was wrong.
