After-debate discussion here!
Apparently it was Brian Williams tonight on MSNBC who FINALLY said on air that no other company BUT Halliburton would be qualified for such a job!!
I wondered about that and thought I heard paper tearing at one point. Cheney just raised his voice and didn't miss a beat. If that was on purpose, it was rather rude.
Not usually; I'm hoping this one is different.
Larry King is on TV, saying that there are so many new registered voters that the polls mean nothing.
Go away you little crybaby. Go get your pacifier and crawl into your mommie's lap.
Cheney tore Edwards apart.
I had no idea he had a Ph.D. Anyone know in what?
It seemed there were a lot of trial-lawyer debate tricks by Edwards. You could hear it in the structure of his parallel sentences and the practiced co-ordination of that structure with his hands, head, and eyes. But to me it appeared as all technique and no substance.
Although Cheney tended to data-dump on the issues, he got in about 3 or 4 of good solid easy-for-idiots-to-understand points. I think those tipped the scale clearly for Cheney in this debate.
At times, Cheney appeared a little tired and under pressure. It could have been he was trying to appear more mature than Edwards. One of the PBS commentators mentioned it also.
But it was apparent that Cheney's great contribution to the current administration and perhaps in the next one is his ability to think issues through deeply and that aura was displayed in the debates. So Cheney wins.

RE: Dennis Miller - Tonight Show taping would have been over before (or maybe during) the debate.
I liked when Edwards said in a high voice and a silly grin, pointing at VP Cheney: "I did answer the question, he didn't!"
He sounded like a little kid tattling on his big brother.
You, poor scared rundy, are in an extremely teeny tiny itsy bitsy minute infinitesimal minority in your opinion. And you certainly haven't "pantsed" FReepers.
"Was anyone else offended as an American by Edwards' "America's bright light is flickering" remark?"
As a matter of fact, yes, I was. What's with all this gloom and doom?
I disagree. I think he is AWESOME tort liability plaintiff lawyer. I have no question why he was spectacularly successful. Channelling babies who were never born because of junk science smears on good hearted ObGYns.
He has all the soulless bullcrap tools to manipulate easily manipulated people with his lies and manipulations. Look at his closing statement. He's a punk, but to a fat butted postal worker who hates HMOs and wants to move a bunch of money from their owners to "the people who was hurt", he's Robin Hood.
We Freepers would never make final cut to sit on any jury in front of which he argued. We're too smart and sane. We're not civil servants and welfare chronics who are "think of what someone could do with all that money" corporation haters.
miller on leno
Dang! I cant find those channels!
there it is!
Any pundit who thinks this is anything but VERY good for Bush isn't thinking straight and wasn't paying attention. The fact is that we needed something to staunch the supposed bloodflow and tonight did that beautifully. Cheney eviscerated Edwards and Edwards in his bizarre need to mention Kerry with every breath he took eviscerated him...AWESOME
Correction:
Staunch the panic amoung supposed Bush commentators and supporters in the News Media and on "Conservative" web sites.
Yes, it must have been very frustrating. It seems to be working well now -- enjoy a cold one. Sounds like FR will be ready for Friday.
I know. It bites don't it. They are trying to influence the people.
The rats already planned to blitz the polls. They are doing it all over the country. Got to sway public opinion, you know.
I tell ya, before the debate I was under the impression that Breck Girl, whom I hadn't seen before, would come out swinging her heavy duty designer purse by Monica Lewinski, viciously hitting the Veep over the bald head with it like there was no tomorrow. It turns out she ain't nothing but a wimpy, squeaky voiced Valley Girl on her first date, squeezed into an illfitting pinkish/green dress from the Junior Department at K-Mart.
I caught that. But, don't worry they are going to double the money to send to Africa to 30 billion.
