Rock for Life Special DC Action Alert 10-04-04
Rock for Life leads protest of pro-abortion bands at Vote for Change final tour stop
October 11, 2004 , 5PM
MCI Center, Washington , DC
If it has been a while since you have made your voice known to the culture of death, or if you have never stood on the streets and boldly proclaimed the message of life, there is no better way to start. There will be over 10 of the most notorious pro-abortion bands and musicians in one place, at one time. They cannot help but to hear and be affected by our message.
The concert is featuring bands like Pearl Jam, Dixie Chicks, Dave Matthews Band, and many more. However, the bands appearing at this event all support abortion on demand. They don't want "change" when it comes to killing babies. They want the status quo. The change that is really needed is action to protect babies from abortion.
Although this concert has some political overtones, we will refrain from making any political statements. This protest is about one thing and one thing only, the senseless slaughter of 1/3 of our generation by abortion. Any musician that supports even one abortion should not be receiving our support. They need to be gently persuaded to quit using their God-given talents to advocate for abortion. Abortion is to be opposed, not celebrated.
I encourage all of you, if you're in the DC area, to (as Keb Mo, one of the performers, so eloquently puts it), stand and be counted. Stand because one-third of your brothers and sisters cannot.
On Monday, October 11, at 4:30 pm we meet outside of the Starbucks at 800 7thSt. NW in Washington , DC . From here we will head to the MCI Center to be a peaceful, prayerful protest to these pro-abortion all stars and their misled fans.
Come and hold one of our signs. Come and bring your own. Come with a few of your friends and pray. Whatever you do, however you do it, just come. Do not bring any political signs or shirts. Again, this is about abortion and not about politics. We do not endorse a specific candidate. We endorse life.

You seen this?
I think your date is wrong
God be with you! (Get that date thing verified.)
Suggest the new book "Intellectual Morons" -- I forget the author - Daniel Flynn?
One third. Yet no one in these bands considers this mass murder.
BUMP...I think my daughter is going to this.....
Cool! If she goes, let me know how it turns out.
My daughter went. She's glad she went..yet sad at how sinful and angry so many people are.....
She'll be participating in more Rock For Life events and trying to get some of her friends more actively involved.
Thanks, I'm sorry she had to find out how cruel and mean-spirited the demonic political left can be.
Rock for life is a great organization.
My daughter has seen it before.
She's seen the Million Mom's and the anti-war ANSWER folks.
This is the first time she's gone on her own.
It's still a shock when you're faced with such hatred and evil, tho. She's finding out what a comfort prayer can be...
can anyone give us an update or pics? how did it go?
thanks!! ill spread the word and look forward to seeing some pics!
I think that you neo-cons need to distinguish between pro-abortion and pro-choice. This is not a moral issue, it's a legal issue. Abortion is a bad thing, and none of these artists would ever claim that abortion is a good thing. They hold the stance of "pro-choice", which, if any of you knew anything about the law, advocates a LEGAL right for women to choose to have an abortion if they so choose. I wish you irrational right-wingers would accept that the Supreme Court (under a Republican-appointed Chief Justice no less) has already defended many times a woman's right to choose. Get a grip, won't you?
LEGAL right >>
and what law says that?
