Campaigns begin mobilizing lawyers (Dems already filing lawsuits)

WASHINGTON - Haunted by the specter of the 2000 Florida recount, both presidential campaigns have begun lining up thousands of lawyers across the United States, just in case the election again is too close to call.

Sen. John F. Kerry's campaign has put together an elaborate nationwide plan to mobilize tens of thousands of lawyers on Election Day, enough to staff every county in every battleground state. Another five legal "SWAT teams" are in place to fly anywhere a recount is warranted.

Democratic lawyers are already filing lawsuits across the country - including ones in Ohio, Michigan and Florida last week - over election policies they believe will disenfranchise voters Nov. 2.

So they've decided this year to fight legal skirmishes across the country, hoping to change state election rules that make it more difficult for voters to cast ballots on Nov. 2. In New Mexico, for instance, the Democrats argued against a rule that would have required new voters to show IDs at the polls, which they said would disproportionately affect minority voters. The state Supreme Court ruled last week in favor of the Democrats.

The issue is particularly important to the Democrats, who are hoping that hundreds of thousands of newly registered voters will turn out in unexpected numbers to vote for Kerry. Some independent political action groups known as 527s say they have registered 300,000 new voters in the battleground states alone.

Could it be that the stupid rats haven't figured out a way to cheat these machines yet, could that be a factor in the mystery of the disapearing dems?

If they haven't figured out, e.g., Diebold machines yet, they might be the last ones. See this search result on Slashdot for some discussions on just how secure Diebold is... If there is a way to crack the Diebold machines, there is surely a way to crack the others... and you'd better believe Dems will use it.

John Forbes Kerry had a chance to meet with black church goers in Philadelphia yesterday. He reminded them that the Republicans were going to try to stop them from voting. Bill Clinton went to Baltimore for the election of the Democrat Gov. that was running a very close race with a
Republican Ellen Saubrary (sp) and it worked. He was in a black church and told the people that the Republicans were going to try to stop them from voting. Within days the Republican candidate was accused of being a racist and she lost the race. It is all a planned and very successful attack on the Republicans by the pond scum left. It is
working because the Republicans refuse to face the attack. Well placed ads by the GOP could head off this nasty lie.
They always stay away from the fight. It is distressing to be accused and the GOP never gets in their face over it.
I cannot believe this accusation is left hanging in the air
every election. The use of black churches by elitists is sickening. I have never seen a politician walk into other churches and campaign like that?
