The CompuServe group was legendary when I joined in 1998. My condolences to all who knew this pioneer.

Wasn't that group mentioned in Richard Poe's book?

My prayers to the family and all who knew him.

I wrote to Dave. May Michael's soul be laid in peace. He was a very bright man with a kind heart.

I've belonged to CompuServe forever but I missed this forum.

May he rest in peace.

David, I don't know if you remember me, but I was 'Biker' on the old Townhall Forum. I remember you, and Michael. My condolences to Michael's family and friends.

I joined in mid-1995 and remained for about a year. It was in it's decline then, but still a great place.

I've been a Compuserve member since 1987 - the old Zapcis/Tapcis days. I did not belong to this group, but mourn his passing.

As we used to say:

Hung around the RNC and DNC forums in addition to Townhall--back then we used real names. David was dkatz....it was the forerunner of blogs. No newspapers were online then...

Dear sweet soul, do not be distressed. What we all went through in TH, we went through together, as evidenced by the many years we've all managed to stay in contact with each other. It was really something.. :)

And we each got pulled into different tracts and directions, as we each continued to fight the good fight. Therefore, we are forever bound together in some very deep, mystical way, no? Michael liked you. You didn't and haven't let him down in any way. You miss him and you are grieving. You are in the finest of company in remembering Michael. Do write to Dave. And on the light side; beg him for Mona's email addy. (big grin).

Hmmm...(smile).. do you remember the Issues forum of CIS? Rush's forum? We think we be fighting vipers now... egads, it was downright viscious then. Censorship was horrid!! I managed to get banned and locked out of a number of forums.. But then, oh well!

I used to work with a person by that name, but I'm not sure if its the same one. The age and location are right. Do you know whether the one who died had any connections with the Navy?
