Here are the specific frames from the debate video shoqing most clearly what Kerry had in his hand as he took it out of his pocket and placed it on the podium.
I have taken two of the frames, lightened them, zoomed in, and sharpened the pics. No other enhancements have been made:
But I have faith that the people who see it will see the difference between a President and a snake oil salesman.
yep .. he's not normally like that
Hmmmm
I think he took out blank paper so the President would challenge it or accuse him, and then be embarrassed by a wrongful accusation.
"Bush was set up by a lib moderator"
This is just sour grapes. Bush' problems in the debate didn't come from the moderator. He didn't do a good job in getting his answers out (tired, unprepared, I don't know). As for some "magic" note card or even a folded 8 by 11 piece of paper: you really think that this won the debate for Kerry?
When you start arguing about this, it looks desperate. Not allowing them notes is a stupid rule to begin, and arguing about it lets people think it's okay to judge the debate on style over substance.
Ya know, he was writing ON something as was Bush. Has anyone figured it might be a notecard to WRITE ON?
The next debate is a town hall-style forum. Want to bet the Rats will have "Ringers" in the audience?
It's hard to see how kerry could possibly make use of three by five cards or a cheat sheet unless he knew beforehand what the questions would be.
I've said before that I doubt whether Jim Lehrer himself handed the questions to John Kerry himself. But I wouldn't be at all surprised if someone on Lehrer's staff handed them to someone on Kerry's staff. I doubt whether Lehrer would exactly MIND something like that happening. He might very well be careless about keeping them to himself personally, and he might very well look the other way while someone copied them.
Almost certainly, in fact, copies were made of the questions for filing and the like, and it would have been pretty easy for somebody to make another set.
No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings
or other tangible things may be brought into the
debate by any candidate. Neither candidate may
reference or cite any specific individual sitting in a
debate audience at any time during a debate. If a
candidate references or cites any specific
individual(s) in a debate audience, or if a candidate
uses a prop, note, or other writing or other tangible
thing during a debate, the moderator must interrupt
and explain that reference or citation to the specific
individual(s) or the use of the prop, note, or other
writing or thing violates the debate rules agreed to
by that candidate.

Interesting theory, given all the other ways that they tried to bait Bush.
Thank you. It makes it more clear that he pulled out note card/cards. What a friggen creep!
He knowingly violated the rules, there is no good reason to do that.
Go Mayor!
Bush had a piece of paper .. remember during the debate when he picked it up a flipped it over a couple times
I would assume Kerry was giving the same type of paper and not note cards
Either that, or Kerry's brain is so fried that he can't remember jack. Which, if true, brings up the questions about Kerry's health again.
The rules were the rules and for you to dismiss them, try to downplay the obvious cheating, well, I wonder about who you are. I suspect if you were a contestant iin a game show and discovered the opponent had a cheat sheet, you might be upset.
LOL - good one!
