Here are the specific frames from the debate video shoqing most clearly what Kerry had in his hand as he took it out of his pocket and placed it on the podium.
I have taken two of the frames, lightened them, zoomed in, and sharpened the pics. No other enhancements have been made:
Cropped, lightened original of Kerry pulling item from pocket.
Enlarged and sharpened.
Cropped, lightened original, of Kerry putting article down.
Enlarged and sharpened.

He's been coached by Clintoon and is not sure what the definition of notes "is".

Thank You for that Hilarious first Link,as I've been waiting for something like that to appear. That was just forwarded to a large group of friends and acquaintances. This will allow me to skip the next 2 debates and only watch Dick Cheney wipe the floor with John Edwards tomorrow. LOL

Have you heard anything about him having an earpiece?

There's a idea! Where else in the video might we focus on this "pen"?

Has anyone checked the end of the video to see if he picked up anything? I was wondering the same thing. I watched the whole debate again last night. Unfortunately, Kerry isn't shown at all towards the end, so we don't know what he did. Certainly, he wouldn't leave any "evidence" behind. So, he must have picked up the notes at some point. He's a real magician--slight of hand and all--or has a lot of gall to think he could get away with this.
BTW, after watching the debate again, I've decided that Bush won.

I am sure that Kerry was well into 'cheating' on that debate before he stepped out to the podium.
More shocking is to believe that he was not given a 'head start' with a 'heads up', by the Kerry Media Inc.

On a Corporate level I have sat in a number of staged Q&A sessions where big wig CEOs had the questions submitted in advance, even though the questions were staged to supposedly come from the audiance...when they "choose" that person to ask the question.
The goal was to always make it look spontaneous and keep the unrehersed questions not on the list off the floor.
One of the hardest challenges we had was to keep the big wigs from nodding and acknowledging the question even before it was fully asked, or beginning to answer the question before it was fully asked, or start answering the question without even pausing a second at least to act like they were thinking about the question.
I challenge anyone to look at a tape of the debate and not see Kerry repeatedly doing all three things I mentioned.
Something stinks.

This is not a pen. It is clearly something square, and thin, like a note card.
You're right about that! I have never seen a pen that was about 4"x6", or a fountain pen that unfolded into a larger sheet-like shape.
Of course, the Kerry Kampaign staff is now claiming it was a pen. The truth is they are all a bunch of lying political whores and their going rate is thirty pieces if silver,

At Williamsburg, Va., a few weeks before election day, Bible-quoting, media-savvy Republican David Donald Meredith will debate an all-but-defeated Democratic challenger. But newspaperman Michael J. Howley, the debate moderator, and the panel of questioning journalists so fear the consequences of Meredith's impending presidency that they conspire to ruin him by dispensing with the set debate format and ambushing Meredith with damning, unpublished documents in Howley's possession. After the debate, the panel members become controversial media superstars. I wonder if the "damning, unpublished documents" had anything to do wth the fictional character's national Guard service?
