XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN OCT 03, 2004 14:05:38 ET XXXXX
DEBATE MYSTERY: DID KERRY HAVE CHEAT SHEET?
Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:
"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."
So what did Dem presidential contender John Kerry take out of his jacket as he approached the stage [with his back to the auditorium's audience]?
What did Kerry place on the podium?
Video replays of the Kerry maneuver played all weekend long on the internet.
[A tight zoom of the Boston.Com feed shows Kerry pulling a mysterious "card" from his jacket. 14 seconds into video, after commerical]
A top Kerry campaign source explained to the DRUDGE REPORT late Sunday how Bush supporters were once again trying to distract.
"Kerry did not cheat," said the Kerry insider. "This is more lies from Republicans, who are hoping for a quick change of subject away from the president's performance, and the new polls."
Developing...
What if it was a list of the questions in the order they were to be asked?
Figures!
I don't think Fox saoiid they look like 3x5's, the person that posted said they l;ooked like 3x5's.
Thanks for the link to the earlier thread. I've got it bookmarked along with yours, and all the others on this issue. :-)
FReepers have always amazed me with the way they work together to get the straight scoop, then get the word out. Never more so than the past few weeks.
Now to get an e-mail out to the media outlets in my address book. I know they just hate me by now. LOL!!
Which would have WHAT on it that he really needed or couldnt memorize ?
I think he not only had the questions but also the answers.
Once a lying cheat; always a lying cheat.
And memo to Dick Cheney -- DO NOT MAKE LIGHT OF THIS DURING YOUR DEBATE. It will trivialize the accusation.
I would much prefer a President who shows the integrity to NOT cheat, thank you very much. President Bush "has character"--core values.....which is MUCH different than a candidate who is just "a character" with NO core values...which is what you see in Kerry.
How do you expose a cheater, or just a "suspicion" of cheating, in front of 62+ million viewers, without looking petty and vindictive?
Since John Fraud Kerry's Integrity is the basic question of this election and he handed those who despise him a club, we'd be fools not to use it. It would be one thing if the Bush team had to divert their efforts to make this attack - but the Internet (Freepers, bloggers, Drudge...) Talk-radio & FoxNews can handle it just fine. And if you doubt this just recall the Swiftvets & Rathergate.
This debate cheating can be piled on other lies he's been caught in. Add his Dem adviser Sandy Burglar's shoplifting of secret documents and his Liberal MSM's Rathergate scandal involving fraudulent documents supplied by Democrat operatives AND just watch how much it will be worth.
One question to you: if it's not worth our bandwidth to push this issue, WHY IS IT WORTH YOUR BANDWIDTH TO KILL IT?
My advise is even if your opinion is well intended, don't stand too long with the MSM as they try to spike this story - THEY WILL BE STEAMROLLED AGAIN!
"I cant imagine what exactly would be on that paper anyway ..What ?/ Facts , figures //Dosent even make sense to me .."
Answers to Jim's questions. He could have used simple words to jog his memory about how to answer.
I know, I was trying to give you an assist....
Sigh.
I'm a strong supporter of the President's and he did a good job. I can list all the valid reasons he won, or at least tied, but that isn't in soundbyte form.
This is just an outgrowth of the Buckhead/blog moment in campaign history - however, I'm skeptical lightning strikes twice.
I'll bet your question about how the dems were able to get away with using picts from the debate in SPITE of an agreement to not do so...was rhetorical.
Thanks then!
"Good politicians don't necessarily answer the questions anyhow, they get out the points they want to make regardless."
Reminds me of JFKerry getting "Richard Clarke" in the debate without stating his name... Kyoto, like really now,... etc...
You don't know me, so don't accuse me of being a Kerry supporter. Search my screenname for past posts before you name call.
Yes .. I think he saw an idiot who doesn't know what the subject of the story is .. Sheeeeesh!!
He, without a doubt, cheated. He agreed to not bring anything to the podium. He did bring at least one note card. He's been proven a cheat on national TV. Not surprising, because he's always been a cheat. Kerry's banking on your apathy to get him through this one.
sorry, I thought your name was mabel.
