XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN OCT 03, 2004 14:05:38 ET XXXXX

DEBATE MYSTERY: DID KERRY HAVE CHEAT SHEET?

Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:

"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."

So what did Dem presidential contender John Kerry take out of his jacket as he approached the stage [with his back to the auditorium's audience]?

What did Kerry place on the podium?

Video replays of the Kerry maneuver played all weekend long on the internet.

[A tight zoom of the Boston.Com feed shows Kerry pulling a mysterious "card" from his jacket. 14 seconds into video, after commerical]

A top Kerry campaign source explained to the DRUDGE REPORT late Sunday how Bush supporters were once again trying to distract.

"Kerry did not cheat," said the Kerry insider. "This is more lies from Republicans, who are hoping for a quick change of subject away from the president's performance, and the new polls."

Thank you for reposting the Boston Globe Video....what I noticed is John Kerry waited until he had his back turned to the audience before sliding his hand into his pocket...CAN'T THESE DEMOCRATS DO ANYTHING WITHOUT CHEATING?

It's a joke. They say Bush needs an ear piece so he knows how to answer questions because he's so stupid. Well, the Dems don't intend it as a joke but it is.

I saw one man come in and pick up Pres Bush's notes afterwards but appeared not to pick up Kerry's - he kept going across the stage. Perhaps Kerry picked up his own?

I never liked him either. He is another "pretender". Pretends to be non-biased when he is as biased as the day is long.

Despite the bias, depite John Kerry having the questions, despite the questions being exactly as you said, our President composed himself extremely well.

Yes he was tired.

Yes he seemed irritated.

I think the Dems may have actually done this to TRY to force President Bush to do something totally outrageous - and perhaps now we know why the 2 could not walk over to the other's podium....maybe the Dems wanted to rattle the President but not allow him to actually go over and hold up the cheat sheet for all to see saying:

"Hey Lehrer - what's this? Thought we were not to bring cheat sheets here???? Kerry didn't get the word...."

Again.....ESPECIALLY now that we know John Fraud was openly cheating and the President knew it and Lehrer knew it......

For President Bush to first go on with the debate and to do so without going over and knocking the tar out of this billionaire pretender - or without saying something hugely sarcastic or scathing against Kerry - (he did use the word absurd once....).......he, the President, WAS the clear winner!

It was clear to me that night - even moreso now!

I remember seeing that as well and commented to my friends watching with me, "I wonder what that was all about?"

Exactly! It demonstrates a man of High character and sense of fair play, that he wouldn't make a show about the Cheat when he very well could have.

Seems it may have been providence FOX had control of footage for the night.

Disagree. If Kerry is proven to have cheated it will hurt him, because his entire new-found popularity is based ONLY on his ability to look sharp, not the content of his presentation.

Wasn't there a rule that they weren't allowed to use replays of the debate in ads, but Kerry's already got it up on his website?

In order for a cheat sheet to be worth the paper it's printed on, isn't it safe to assume that you need to know the questions in advance for it to work???????

Like I said on debate night I want to know where Jim and Kerry snuck off to and lunch at!! kerry said at one point in the debate we'll get to that question later on jim,WHAT??? how does he know that? also every single question was slanted against the President, where were the questions about kerry's senate record?? why were all the questions designed to put the President on the defensive?? I'll say it again where did Jim Nd Kerry have lunch at???

Thank you , and thank the mods.

I am sure there are some in America who find no fault with John Kerry cheating, such as this cheater below:

Rather is probably in awe of Kerry's ability to pull off such a scam in front of the public.

"I would be willing to bet that most of America won't look kindly on Kerry for cheating."

The traitor cheated on 3 purple hearts, silver star and bronze star along with a non-completed tour of duty, came home and stabbed the Vets in the back.

In the words of John Kerry:

Bush was off his game.

Kerry cheated.

What's worse?

I disagree with you on two points. First, I am not as convinced as you seem to be the President Bush lost - Kerry clearly took something, I don't know what, out of his pocket and placed it on the lectern. It's against the rules period, win, lose or draw.

GW lost the debate - but it wasn't because of anything Kerry did - It was because Kerry never had to defend his awful 20 year Senate record on National Security.

Spin it all you want. But why the Kerry people and MSM are so happy is that for 90 minutes while 55 million Americans watching (and more reading about it) Kerry's awful 20 year senate record of being WRONG on the Cold War, WRONG on the first Gulf War, WRONG on cutting funds to the CIA, etc, etc....None of this was brought up -

Bottom line at the end of the night. Kerry wins because of this. GW was on the defensive all night. Kerry escaped having to defend his record.

I didn't notice at the time but I've read about this earlier this weekend.

Also read some lib rant that insisted the Pres had an ear piece in his ear and was getting prompted from Rove during the debates, LOLOL!!!

Sheesh you just can't make this stuff up.

Did Kerry cheat? A good answer comes to mind when you ask yourself, "Would he cheat if he thought he could get away with it?"

By that process, I say absolutely he cheated. The Dems are determined to win this election by any means necessary, if that's cheating at a debate or massive vote fraud, so be it.

They are pulling every sucker punch they can think of.
